Did you want a toilet that really flushes?
I read the reviews and did my homework. I was looking for a inexpensive place to just "lay my head down" at night, as I was moving my son into NMT. It was this hotel or the one with a number in the title. Having done that latter hotel - and it was spartan - I chose Days Inn. Location is in a seamier section of the main drag. Pool is RIGHT on the busy street - no hot tub. Air conditioning general room condition were okay. Here's the not so good parts: a toilet the never fully flushed on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time; a shower that also offered your feet and ankles some soaking time (yep, the tub was a slow drainer!), meager pickings for breakfast (the waffle maker is "well seasoned" which really means that it needs a good cleaning!) and 3 skimpy towels. Our highlight included having to change rooms the very first night. Our door keys did not work. The receptionist tried the master key - it did not work. So, she opened the room next door and said, 'You can stay here tonight and we will try to open the door in the morning." Really. She fully expected us to just jump to the next room WITHOUT clothing or anything from our old room! AND we needed to get not just our clothing, but our medications and grooming supplies. We pushed and she got someone to open the door. This gentleman expected us to stay in the room with the broken door lock - NOT! They were very kind people, but I do not believe I would stay there again. Back the hotel with a number in it.

Adequate
Stayed at this hotel while attending Festival of the Cranes at Bosque de Apache Wildlife Refuge. Accomodations were adequate as we just needed a place to shower and sleep. Rooms were dark. Nice to have small fridge and microwave.

meh.
Staff was nice, room was quiet and clean. However, the air conditioner had a horrible layer of dust on the vent and the filter (which my boyfriend took out and cleaned) was also chock full of dust. Cords had been run under the carpet near the front door. Paint was peeling in the bathroom. I suppose for the price, this place was okay and it was ideally located near where we ended up having dinner- but it was sort of disappointing how run down the place was. With some updating, would be much better.

Socorro Springs Brewery had some great food! I didn't try any of the microbrews (not a big lager fan and that's all they had) but had a pizza and my boyfriend had the cuban sandwich. Yum!

nice quick stay
This hotel was nice for a quick stay with the kids. Room was quiet and comfortable and hotel was in a good location. It was also very economical, with a good return for the cost. A lengthy stay would have been difficult given the small pool next to the parking lot. Check-in person asked a lot of questions (e.g. how many kids? what are ages?, etc.) that made me uncomfortable. Continental breeakfast was average.

Not worth it!
As soon as we walked into the room, there were 3 cockroaches. All of the nooks and crannies were flithy, and there was an old cobweb still left in the corner of the ceiling. The sheets had stains on them too. We had booked the room for 3 non-refundable nights, and stayed in it for less than 3 minutes. We decided that losing the money and staying in a different hotel was well worth the peace of mind, and it was. We ended up staying at the Best Western and had a much better experience. The ammenities were better, the room was much cleaner, and for $30 more a night, it was worth it.

Great stay for birding trip
The staff was great. The room clean. We went to the Wildlife refuge by 6 am to see the sandhill cranes. The breakfast was offered when we returned at 8 am even though she had put it all up, thinking we were gone. When we go back, I will defininetly stay again, and reccommend it to fellow birders.
