Should be a 2 star hotel.
I travel quite extensively and usually find this site to be a great guide. This place is not as good as it says. It is not a 3 star hotel, it is a two star. As a two star it is average. As a three star it is poor. Rooms not unclean, just not completely clean. Bed and pillows not horrible but greatly on need of updates. Shower is poor. Heat in room is poor. The heat unit doesn't regulate the temp well and requires changing during the night to remain in a somewhat comfortable zone. For about the same price you can get a beautiful room in the downtown area with great service... Either hotel or b&b style. Go someplace else. Not that this place is horrible... It's the expectations of what it says it is that are off, and the price for it.

Hoped for better
Recommended by my brother-in-law. But, this is an older motor hotel and does show its age. Nice helpful staff and a decent breakfast

Great Location / Older Rooms
We found the hotel to be in a great location with a free shuttle to downtown and above average continental breakfast. The staff was helpful and pleasant but we were disappointed in our room. The rooms were older and updated with new paint and accessories but the carpet was old, there was a draft coming from the cracks in the door and the heating unit ran either cold or hot. The room also had an old room odor. We expected the rooms would be nicer but we were only staying one night and would never consider a lengthy stay at this location

Long walk from hotel
Don't miss the Loretto chapel in downtown Santa Fe. There is a 3.00 admission to see the staircase constructed for the choir loft - what an amazing story. Also do not miss the basilica downtown and the relics of the saints

Long walk from hotel
It's true that you are in walking distance but it is a long walk. Just make sure that everyone is aware that if you are going to downtown or Canyon St. it is a good long walk.

Santa Fe Stay
Good location for visiting The Plaza of old town Santa Fe. While the rooms are tiny, they are tidy. Dining is a bit of a challenge, but that is a typical Santa Fe challenge. The traffic patterns can be somewhat confusing, but hotel provides large print maps of the immediate area. Parking lot is somewhat confusing.

Dining tip:
Not Applicable
Dining can be challenging due to traffic patterns, layout of streets. Street addresses not always clearly displayed. Plan your route well ahead, know your streets and turns beforehand, otherwise you will do a lot of needless backtracking.

Fine for the money
The hotel was fine for the money. Not as close to the Santa Fe Railyard and Old Town as described in their ads.

Good budget hotel convenient for Plaza
It was a convenient place to stay if you want to be near to the Plaza but without paying top-dollar prices. The shuttle bus times were not that convenient, only starting at 10 am and finishing at 7 pm. We took our car and parked easily

Yay for the Sage Inn!
The Sage Inn was a wonderful place to stay! The rooms were clean and aesthetically appealing and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ended up extending my stay there because it felt like a nice place to call home for a few days. It is conveniently located, although it helps to have a car since it isn't right in town. For Santa Fe, it was definitely worth the price. Compared to most mid-range hotels I have stayed in, this was the best one I have seen.

more motel than hotel, but not badd
Pros: Very helpful staff who are knowledgeable about the area; good location - though not in the heart of the downtown area, the railyard district is home to the farmer's markets and restaurants, there's a Whole Foods next door and the hotel offers a free hourly shuttle to and from the Plaza/downtown area; free breakfast, though it's pretty basic; cleanliness. Cons: Motel-style rooms w/ older a/c/heat units that don't offer much control of temp; very basic rooms (don't expect flat-screen TVs or iPod docking stations); a little farther from the action than some might want. Overall: If you're more worried about seeing the sites than having the latest luxuries, the Sage Inn will work. But don't book it if you're expecting more than a basic, slightly dated hotel room that can be the base for your adventures.
