Santa Fe Stay

Good location for visiting The Plaza of old town Santa Fe. While the rooms are tiny, they are tidy. Dining is a bit of a challenge, but that is a typical Santa Fe challenge. The traffic patterns can be somewhat confusing, but hotel provides large print maps of the immediate area. Parking lot is somewhat confusing.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

Dining can be challenging due to traffic patterns, layout of streets. Street addresses not always clearly displayed. Plan your route well ahead, know your streets and turns beforehand, otherwise you will do a lot of needless backtracking.

Fine for the money

The hotel was fine for the money. Not as close to the Santa Fe Railyard and Old Town as described in their ads.

Not as memorable!

Hotel was not as close to the plaza as it claimed to be. Do not believe that the rooms were worth what we paid. Stayed in much nicer hotels for the same price. Rooms needed updating. Expected at least real coffee cups/glasses versus the plastic cups. Bottled water was a nice touch. Complimentary breakfast was good!

Convenient location; staff need training

Spent 6 nights while taking photo class in Santa Fe. Good location; next to Whole Foods, short walk to Vinaigrette and La Choza restaurants, easy walk to the Plaza. Old TV in a clean and quiet room at the back of the complex. Staff too busy to be consistently courteous? They forgot my wake-up call the last day and lacked the smiles and thank yous that make a place special.

Great salads at Vinaigrette when you have overdosed on green chile.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

It's true that you are in walking distance but it is a long walk. Just make sure that everyone is aware that if you are going to downtown or Canyon St. it is a good long walk.

Sage Inn Santa Fe

I usually stay at the pricier properties in SF, but the Sage is a tremendous value if you just want a clean place to crash, shuttle to the plaza, and they put me in non pet room because they are pet friendly and I was solo...

Terrific value

The Santa Fe Sage Inn is an older property very well maintained. The staff was as professional and helpful as any 5 star. The location is convenient to downtown without the bustle of downtown. The rooms have been nicely upgraded. The property is older and shows it's age in little ways. For me it was a four star stay, I only rated it three stars to not create too high expectations for potential visitors.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

El Farol is an off the main path infertility restaurant. If you are there when Vincente and his Flamenco group are performing don't miss it. Unlike any Flamenco performance you will ever see. Outstanding.

Good value

Good, clean hotel close in town. Older but well updated. They updated everything but the room size which is small and that they can't change. Free breakfast was good and the dining room and lobby were very nice. Real art on the walls in the lobby and in the rooms. They offer a ton of freebies and a great price to try and overcome the fact that it is a 60s-70s era hotel.

Good Deal for a Fair Place

Comfortable room for a fair price. Strengths: clean room, reasonable price, wi-fi, free breakfast, can walk into town, next door to a Whole Foods. Weaknesses: poor picture on cable T.V., thin walls, weak wi-fi signal, noisy AC unit, breakfast high carb and processed.
