A $6.4 million renovation and La Posada has never looked better! This extensive redesign has enhanced all 157 guest rooms including 30 signature suites, public spaces, the RockResorts SpaŽ, the historic Staab House, dining venues and technology throughout the resort.
As part of the interior design plan, the resort partnered with the Museum of New Mexico Foundation to incorporate indigenous fabrics and prints that are featured in guest rooms and public spaces. Guests entering the resort will immediately notice the transformation in the lobby where individual desk stations will replace the traditional check-in counter, allowing for a more personalized arrival experience. Additional lobby seating will invite guests to socialize and enjoy one of the resort's wine selections, listen to native flute players who perform each week, or admire the vibrant paintings and sculpture courtesy of Santa Fe's Peyton Wright art gallery.
For an educational lobby experience, Smithsonian Associate, Alan Osborne provides Santa Fe history and culture talks, while the director emeritus of the Museum of Fine Arts, Bob Ewing, offers Santa Fe art discussions.
La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa is located in downtown Santa Fe, just two blocks from the city's historic Plaza, art galleries, and world-class shopping. Intimately bathed in Southwestern culture, La Posada's aura evokes a sense of wonder and serenity amid the mysterious history of the region. Featured in Architectural Digest, National Geographic Traveler, Sunset Magazine, and other noted publications, La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa is known as the first choice for seasoned travelers to Santa Fe, which has quickly become one of the most popular destinations in the country.
Some of the newly updated features include: Updated and improved Wi-Fi; flat screen televisions; new, fine soft goods, bedding, furniture, and lighting to all guest rooms; 21st Century bathrooms with quality details; 24 hour Fitness Center access; retooling functionality and comfort to the guest arrival and lobby area and contemporary touches throughout without losing the Historic Southwestern Presence.
All guests are responsible for paying the property's daily resort fee of $30 per room upon check-out. This taxable daily resort fee includes parking, internet access, and other services and amenities to enhance your visit.
When traveling with your pet, a non-refundable $75 per pet fee will apply.

The decor is still pretty dull. But the worst is that none of the many staff milling around, from chef to housemaids to ... valets parking the cars, has any idea what their job is and how to do it. Hire a Swiss hotel school graduate and learn already!

Avoid the Fuego in the hotel, it is bad. Go to the South side, away from the tourist traps in the Plaza. And Indian Market is over-rated and expensive, very dull, little innovation.

Fantastic Family Weekend
DOCLATTA Aug 24, 2009
We go to Santa Fe very often but took my dad for the first time for his 73rd birthday. We had two king rooms that shared a ... patio and it was a perfect arrangement for us. He could easily walk to the Plaza and we all had a great time. The service and amenities were the best we've ever had in Santa Fe. I think I'll have a hard time ever staying anywhere else!

Indian Market
The Discerning Broker Aug 24, 2009
We attended the annual Indian Market, which is held about one block to the West of La Posada. Convenience was paramount, due ... to the lack of parking and inability to drive around the Plaza during Market weekend. The valet was professional and courteous as were the wait and bar staff. The best part is the secluded feel to the rooms, outdoor restaraunt, private patios, and pool-side bar! The main down-side was the cost of the breakfast...as it was just as expensive as dinner, but about half as good.

Great location, great service, tiny room

Great location and service, but our room was so small that there was room for only one chair, which was an armless dining ... room chair. For the price, it would have been nice if both of us had been able to sit down at the same time. On the positive side, the staff could not have been more considerate and the restaurant (Viga) was very good and a real bargain.

Overall experience staying at La Posada was enjoyable. The rooms are spread out over the property in many different ... building. Odd little steping stones led to the room ~ just thankful I did not have to climb stairs to my room. The accomodations were nice ~ a great value? ~ probably not. Would have enjoyed a bathtub to soak my very tired feet. The spa was expensive.

Appreciate the fireplace
Duane Sep 22, 2008
The Posada was a nice place overall. The grounds are quite impressive and well kept. The plus was the king bed and kiva ... fireplace, but for a premium patio room would've preferred more seclusion vs. sharing the front entrance with another couple (room 107). Sat. night brought a loud wedding reception on the grounds outside that lasted till midnight, but I guess that's a chance you take and being near the front of the property made it worse. Nice pool and hot-tub, a bit short on chairs, but no problem getting one when needed. Breakfast at the hotel was great. Multiple problems with valet as they consistently brought the wrong car based on a similarly spelled name.

Great location and value
Misako Jul 29, 2008
La Posada de Santa Fe is excellently located in the center of the town. It is only a few minutes walk to the PLAZA, which is ... the heart of this artful town. This hotel gives you the impression of almost everything of Santa Fe; the cozy size of relatively small town, the historical architecture, food and hospitality. I have never tried Spa during my stay, but it seems there are some worth attending programs every day.
