Enveloped in warmth and luxury at famous Santa Fe chapel
Inn and Spa at Loretto is perhaps the most noteworthy example of Pueblo revival architecture of any Santa Fe hotel, and it is right next to an older and even more photographed landmark: the famous 1878 Loretto Chapel. Despite its large size, this hotel captures the grace and romance of Santa Fe in detail. Balconies are neatly stacked for optimal mountain views. The unbeatable city center location is steps to the historic plaza.
Highlights
  • Luxurious day spa
  • Three art galleries
  • Prime downtown location at Loretto Chapel
  • Pet-friendly (fees apply)
Rooms

Inn and Spa at Loretto offers 134 luxury rooms and five suites. Grand wood headboards and walls painted terra cotta are vibrant canvases for textured, pueblo pattern bedding. Witness the colorful New Mexico sky on a private or shared balcony. Marble and slate bathrooms have robes and products by Gilchrist & Soames. Every room has a recliner chair, flat-screen TV, personal oxygen tank, Wi-Fi and an elegant glass top desk.

Features

The flickering of candlelight and warm leather sofas beckon the clientele to relax in the lobby. Browse local-made art (available for purchase) then stroll under tree-shaded, lavender and sage scented gardens to the mysterious Loretto Chapel. Make time for an altitude relief oil massage at the on-site spa, followed by an al fresco meal under the stars at the award-winning restaurant Luminaria.

Dining

Southwestern favorites at the elegant Lumineria restaurant include local lamb chops and desserts by the award-winning pastry chef. Room service is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner until 11 p.m.

Inn and Spa at Loretto

Drafty room, dark and cold. Towels were worn and so were the bed sheets. Closet was in the bathroom making it hard to access. Will not stay there again.

It was just, ok.

We had to call maintenance twice - once for A/C and once for the TV. The maintenance person responded quickly but the A/C still didn't cool the room well. We opened the window to let the cool night air in and had pidgeons cooing and finally, they came into the room. Hotel staff was not unfriendly but aloof, sorta snooty. We won't stay here again. It's sad because it's a great location and beautiful building. The amenities were very akward - we had to put the coffee pot on the floor. It wasn't well thought out as far as convenience of the amenitites. They need to hire a person to revamp the place - it could be the best in town!

Inn and Spa at Loretto

We absolutely loved the hotel and location. Right in the heart of town next to the chapel. The staff could have been more attentive to the customers. It was difficult to get their attention at times to ask a question as they were having discussions amongst themselves.

You cannot go wrong with any of the restraunts! From the Anasazzi restraunt to Bistro 135 and even the plaza diner. Service was outstanding and the food amazing. We loved visiting Santa Fe and recommend the hotel, shopping , (Passementrie)and great food.

Watch out for the church bells

This historical hotel is wonderful, and is perfect for a quick getaway or a romantic interlude. But watch out for the Cathedral Bells if you want to sleep in, or even have a calm state of mind. The bells are not from the Loretto Church, but from the large Cathedral down the street. When you check-in, make sure you ask for a room away from the Cathedral Church Bells. They ring from 7am to 9pm, every 15 minutes! (even though it is only supposed to ring from 9am to 9pm, every 15 minutes, but, whatever.) The hotel was luckily not overbooked, so they graciously apologized, and gave us an equivalent room, saying 'this happens a lot'.

Great hotel, great location

This is a great hotel. The location is great - you just walk out the door and your at the center of everything. The rooms were very comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was very friendly/helpful. Especially, [...], who seemed to do everything - he valeted our car, took us to our room and told us of great restaurants to go to. He is a real asset to this hotel! Two evenings we ate at the Living Room Lounge - great food and great ambiance. We really enjoyed our stay!

Enjoyed the location to the plaza and other sites. The dining was well done, great staff. The size of the Hotel is small/comfortable vs. large venues.

Over Priced, and charged more fees

When we arrived, we were told that [...]there was a mandatory $18.00 valet parking fee, and another $22.00 fee for "hotel services". This made the already pricy room very expensive. The heater in the room made so much noise, we had troubles sleeping. As for the Hotel Services... I am not sure why we were charged, the pool was closed, and the hotel does not have a hot tub... something about water restrictions... hmmm other hotels in the area have them...
