Worthy of another stay
We were in Santa Fe for a funeral and were looking for a quite stress free place to stay and we found it. We did not use the ... "SPA" services this trip but everything else was wonderful. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomidating. Our suite was wonderful for visiting with friends that also came into town for the funeral. We had a fire place in the suite, which was awesome considering the very cold weather at the time. After the funeral we met family and frieds back at the hotel and visited in the very confortable lobby, which also has a wonderful fire place. Even thought the reason for our trip was unpleasent, this was one of the most pleasent hotel stays I have ever had. We will definitly stay at the Hacienda any time we are in Santa Fe and will very likely plan a trip back just so we can stay there again.

The continetal breakfest included with a stay at the Hacienda is the best I have ever had.

Hacienda at Hotel Santa Fe - off season
Reading about the Hacienda, I was drawn to the story-telling offered each evening, but evidently October is off-season (even ... though the hotel was fully booked for the Columbus Day weekend, so that was unavailable. The walk to the Plaza and Canyon Road was an enjoyable distance, but there were a number of tricky, busy intersections if you will be managing children. It felt like a high tourist to local ratio: can't imagine what its like during the summer. Best part of the trip was getting out of Santa Fe and into the surrounding country: Bandelier national park was a highlight. Cafe Pasqual, Mu Du Noodle were standout restaurants. The Railyard across the street from the hotel was dismal: cranky service and poorly prepared food.

Good place with a good location
The Hacienda at the Hotel Santa Fe is an easy-to-find place with easy access to everywhere, from downtown Santa Fe to the ... freeways north to Taos and the major sites in the region. The room was average in size and appointments.

Just about everything in Santa Fe is a short drive from the Hotel Santa Fe and few things, especially the shopping areas, are within walking distance.

Charming, comfortable experience
The rooms were charming with lovely bathrooms and kiva fireplace. The turndown service and butler service was much ... appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and bountiful. The shuttle service came in handy so we could avoid the parking challenges. The only negative was the shower door needed adjustment (I understand this was a common complaint.)and allowed water to leak on the floor.

We had superb meals at Cafe Pasquals (both lunch and dinner) and Geronomo. Both the food and service were great and not to be missed.

"Lovely and convenient"
We loved our stay at the Hacienda. The rooms were lovely, clean, with a fireplace and we were greeted with a basket of fruit ... and flowers. It included a private butler which we really didn't need. The concierge was very helpful. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night which was delicious and reasonably priced. While we ate, the hotel had a native american musician playing beautiful flute and spanish guitar music. We like to walk and picked this hotel because it was close enough but not inside the plaza. A free shuttle was available if we needed it but didn't. We were across the street from the farmers market which was great even in the winter. It actually snowed while we were there. They called the breakfast continental but it more than satisfied us. We ate by the fireplace and if days were warm there was an outside eating area with views galore. I loved it and would return in a heartbeat! And did I mention a spa... Only one less than glowing comment. We asked if we could get a room at a higher floor with a view,(basically an upgrade) but the staff at check in wouldn't budge, even though rooms were empty. Still we loved our room.

Not 4 Star
Upon arrival had to wait 10 minutes for our butler to take us back outside into the blizzard to get to the Hacienda. Went ... upstairs to complimentary Happy Hour and there were 3 crackers left, nothing else. Had dinner at the restaurant and this is the only time in 20 years my petite wife complained to me about the small portion of her entree - salmon. The mattress reminded me of the one I just replaced in our guest bedroom. The TV is at a 90 degree angle to the bed and therefore impossible to watch comfortably. The location is convenient, the artwork interesting and 2 hours of entertainment both evenings was enjoyable.

The Railyard is just across and has restaurants and recreation. Also downtown/Plaza is a short walk or shuttle ride away.

we had a concierge(BUTLER) take us to our room...showed us every detil...very helpful...went out of his way to answer any ... question I asked...even what was on HBO that nite...only thing i was disturbed about was the managers reception that nite...my husband was charged for 2 beers(10.00) on our account... a little english cab took us uptown for a tip (not required) and picked us up when we were ready...chocolates on the bed each night and a bed turn down...LOVELY!!!!we were in the Hacienda side...I would highly recommend this hotel...had a King bed and fireplace (we didn't use) but WOW....

Quiet location
Located away from the plaza, the Hacienda was quiet and private. It's a nice walk to the plaza, however, there are shopping ... and dining opportunities very close as well. The butler service was a plus as was the rooftop breakfast each morning that's included with your stay. There's no fitness center on site.

Geronimo's is a unique dining experience in a lovely part of Santa Fe. It has a varied menu, excellent staff and quiet atmosphere. While it's expensive compared to many restaurants, it's perfect for a special meal or celebration.
