No AC and desk lied about it

Cute hotel. Needs some tender love. Great location. We couldn't get the AC to work. The front desk told us it was turned off (current temp was high 70s) because it was to snow in two days. Room was hot and loud all night due to open windows.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

My husband and I stayed in a Junior Suite. It was the perfect size for our weekend getaway. We knew there was a fireplace, but didn't realize it was wood-burning. This was perfect for us. You have to call ahead and have the receptionist send the the "fire guy". He came within 10 minutes and built the fire for you and left extra logs so we could keep it going. Every member of the staff we encounter was very friendly, welcoming, and seemed to genuinely care about how our stay was going.

great stay

Located just off the plaza, this hotel is in a perfect location. Very comfortable bedding, sitting area, cozy room. Underground parking is extra, but it's the santa fe plaza, so parking is difficult to find.

Cold and Understaffed

The room was cold, uncomfortable and not ready on time. The fireplace was nice until you had to move away from it, and then it was bitter cold. The staff were friendly but there were too few of them. No amenities to speak of.

A Disappointment

Hotel had great location, but room was so smoky that it was suffocating ( we did not have a fire in the fireplace) toilette sounded like it was about to overflow, room had no coffee maker, even though it had coffee packs. The staff at the front desk, although pleasant, was clueless about recommendations for restaurants and for tours.

Not a business traveler's hotel, but a nice, clean, boutique hotel

This was not a business traveler's hotel. Internet only available in the lobby, small bathrooms, difficult to park when checking in. For vacationers looking for a nice boutique hotel with excellent proximity to shopping via walking it would be great.

Under Construction!

We stopped in Santa Fe to explore and do the arts for a day. I chose Hotel Plaza Real because it is right off the plaza and within walking distance of all the galleries, the governor's palace, and museums. It also looked comfortable and southwestern, which it was. It was also undergoing MAJOR CONSTRUCTION, which meant morning noise, dust, and nothing available at the hotel but rooms. No breakfast, no bar, not even a lobby. If the hotel had been up and running, I would have thought the price I paid fair, but with the inconvenience caused by the construction I thing it was WAY OVER-PRICED. WHen the construction is done, it will be lovely and I would recommend it. But not until then.

Terrific price for the location

Go for the larger rooms if you can. Helpful and attentive staff. Great price for the location (though the parking price ($14) was on the pricey side.
