Has gone downhill fast

I have stayed at this hotel at least a dozen times and this will be the absolute last time. It's pretty horrible now, and the services are sub par and in many cases non existent. One night there was no parking available and then had to wait an hour for a paid valet. After waiting went to front desk to be told there was one person handling valet and other services and they were busy. Front desk person couldn't even be bothered to take my keys so I waited for another 30 minutes. On top of that there was construction outside my window and when opened my doors a huge gust of dirt and smoke came into my room. Front desks apology consisted of telling me that they would be done in a few weeks. Only one towel in the room resulted in another hour wait, and zero interest in the front desk hearing another complaint. It's obvious the well publicized financial issues of the casino has caused this casino and hotel to drop staff and services. Do not reccomend unless you don't care about anything but a really ugly room to lay your head on.

Well......

It was okay. My wife and I stayed there 1 nite. Pictures looked good on the website so we thought why not its a casino hotel and thought we could enjoy the pool by day and casino by night. Pool is nice as long as you enjoy swimming with children. It was like White Water(water park)with kids everywhere. Not what we expected at a casino hotel. Rooms were very nice and clean.

Buffalo Thunder

Was very satisfied, however, there were a couple of admin people that could have been a bit more friendly. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Casino personnel were very friendly also.

If you spend most of your time in the Casino or golfing etc, you get better rate with rooms with no view.

It was an overall good time

It was a good stay. It is about 10 minutes outside of Santa Fe so made it kind of hard to go back and forth from the town to the hotel. It was a good experience overall though.

Buffalo Thunder Hilton

This hotel is more a casino than anything else. There is a golf course, restaurants (expensive), pools and spa, and other amenities, but the casino is the main thing. Rooms are very nice, the entire complex is well done and clean. The atmosphere is a bit hectic, rather than peaceful and quiet. The room was quiet, thankfully.

Sadly the badly trained, lazy staff spoil what could be a nice hotel

I was torn doing this review, as the hotel itself is nice. The staff, however, need some serious public relations training. If I could give a negative rating for quality of hotel staff, I'd assign that rating for this hotel. We were assured a refrigerator would be delivered to our room the night we arrived. It never came despite the assurance that it would be there in ten minutes. The next day, we left our hotel room at noon, carefully removing the "do not disturb" sign from our door. When we came back that evening, our room had NOT been cleaned. Our bed was unmade and our garbage cans full of trash. We phoned customer service and the employee who answered simply said 'oh' and then left the conversation dangling. No apology. No offer of sending someone up to do the cleaning. Just dead silence. I said we would waive having the room cleaned, if someone would bring up fresh cups, coffee and shampoo as I wanted to take a shower and my husband wanted some coffee. The employee said "shampoo and coffee ... okay, someone will bring it up." Almost two hours later, no one had come. Again, a phone call elicited no apology, just another "oh." By now I was seriously irritated, so I said I wanted my shampoo and coffee in five minutes or I would call the manager and ask for an explanation. The voice on the phone simply said, "okay, someone will bring up coffee and shampoo soon. Bye!" It was another hour and a half before someone arrived at our door. That person, simply said "hi, here' your stuff" and left. I couldn't believe staff were so lacking in basic good manners, not to mention public relations skills. I wasn't expecting grovelling, but the words "we're sorry for the inconvenience, this won't happen again" or, perhaps "is there anything we can do to make this up to you?" would have been an appropriate response. My husband and I climbed into our unmade bed in our uncleaned hotel room and vowed NEVER to use a Hilton hotel again.
