The hotel was located ideally just off the square. The service was excellent and the food in the restaurants wonderful. The ... lounge is reported to have a band every night except Sunday. Unfortunately, the band seemed to be located right beneath our room and was so loud that we couldn't watch TV or have a conversation unless they took a break. Fortunately, they quit playing at 10:00 p.m. so we could at least sleep. Otherwise the property is lovely and well situated.

The hotel is a short walk from shops and restaurants. On the Labor Day Holiday every year there is an Art's fair on the square in Santa Fe and vendors from all over the southwest set up on the square as well as the Indian artists from the nearby communities. The weather is nice this time of year so it's a wonderful weekend to visit Santa Fe and it still isn't all that crowded.

Every aspect of the experience was supported expertly and elegantly. One of our first discoveries was how unusually ... comfortable the bed was; made it tempting to nap when we should be out in the Plaza. Wish we had stayed long enough to enjoy the renowned restaurant more and to get to the spa. Will certainly do that next time!

Adequate and Well-Located Lodging
Jangomom Jul 27, 2009
I arranged for a junior suite several months ago with a fold out sofa for a friend. When I arrived at the hotel, they put me ... in a dark single. I called the front desk to politely point out that I had arranged for and paid for a junior suite. Ten minutes later I contacted the front desk again, and then again 5 minutes later I spoke to the front desk again, telling them I had confirmed two days earlier the availability of the desired room with the two baths, fold-out sofa etc and was eventually relocated without any nastiness. But it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth, especially as a frequent business traveler who had never booked on Orbitz before. You guys might want to look into whether this seeming "bait" and "switch" move had anything to do with Orbitz. When I extended for a night, the front desk was rather snide about the fact that the original reservation was through Orbitz.

Great stay
Pammy May 28, 2009
The Eldorado Hotel & Spa was a great place to stay for the couple of days that I was in Santa Fe. Being the nit picky person ... that I am, I found the hotel clean and comfortable and I greatly recommend it. It was the kind of room that if it rains the whole time you're on vacation you wouldn't mind staying in[hopefully this is never the case :)]. The staff was friend enough, not creepy friendly. The hotel location was great, blocks away from the Plaza.

Had Great food at the Shed on E. Palace St by the Plaza. The food and atmosphere was awesome! make a reservation though, or you could be waiting 30-45 minutes to get seated. But it's worth the wait. Also, great margaritas. This place came as a suggestion from a native santa fean and she was so right!

Eldorado is in a great location - just a short walk to the plaza, to the O'Keeffe museum, and to many great shops, galleries, ... and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is great, and the lobby is nice. I appreciated the complimentary bottled water and apples. Even better was the complimentary room upgrade. I'd stay here again.

Beware of Dogs
Ava Sep 1, 2008
This hotel allows dogs. I had to call the front desk bc a dog in a neighboring room was continuously barking and I couldn't ... sleep. After about 30 min. either the owner came back, or a hotel rep took care of it. The service at the hotel's casual restaurant was pleasant, but sloooooooow! Be prepared to pay $18.00/day for parking at the hotel. Ouch! There is a municpal lot across the street that charges (currently 09/2008) $9.00/day. Hotel is very nice; need to keep dog owners all on one floor.

Great location, super friendly staff, very nice decor, well-maintained, comfortable room, just a terrific experience! My ... wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, turned out to be a great choice and excellent value. Just a block from the historic plaza district, next to the Georgia O'Keefe museum, easy access to roads out of town for beautiful drives, couldn't have been better. Can't wait to go back!!!

A Wonderful Stay Awaits You In Santa Fe!
Nancy Apr 6, 2008
The Eldorado Hotel & Spa is a wonderful place to stay when you visit Santa Fe, New Mexico. The room and amenities are beyond ... expectations, and the staff is willing and able to make your stay as pleasant, comfortable, and memorable as possible. Our room was elegant, spacious, and situated with a beautiful view of downtown Santa Fe. The spa was sparkling clean and well staffed. Someone was always at hand to meet our every need. The food in the El Dorado two restaurants was exceptional with so much to choose from. Who could ask for anything more! In addition, it is right in the heart of Santa Fe and within an easy walking distance to the city's plaza and art district. We could not have been more pleased or rewarded.

Ionel Sep 15, 2007
We had a very nice stay. The only problem to report was that the temperature in the room was too low, and the heat was not ... on. I guess we could have used the fireplace (there was wood and matches), but we thought it would be too much for September. Other than that, very good location, nice staff and just nice.

Wonderful Old Santa Fe Feel
Thaddeus Aug 11, 2007
Our stay was a serendipity. We needed one more night in Santa Fe. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Both ... the lounge in the evening and the restaurant at breakfast were delightful. The waitstaff were all friendly and efficient and the valet parking staff were very accommodating. Our next visit will definitely include the El Dorado.

The location is just right; close enough to walk anywhere in the town center yet, just enough removed that there is no ambient noise to disrupt quiet time.
