Great Staff and Value

We recently decided to stop in Roswell as an end to our Christmas vacation. Since funds were tight, we did not want to spend a lot. I do not generally like low end hotels/motels, but for $52 for a night, Motel 6 seemed liveable. We arrived very late, after 2 a.m. and were wiped out. The clerk at the front desk was friendly, had a wonderful sense of humor, told us a great story about a weird (Alien??) encounter she had traveling across the same highway we just arrived on, and did not blink an eye when we told her we also had our pet rabbit traveling with us (no extra charge for our pet -YAY) She offered her help in any way and also had some cute "Alien" trinkets she made and sold for cheap as souvenirs--much better than the outrageous prices downtown for commercial stuff. The room was clean and average, but good enough for a nights sleep after 11 hours of driving. The clerk at check-out was just as friendly and gave us a late check-out with no hassle. The hotel was about 5 miles from the downtown area, so we had time to stop off and do some sight-seeing before heading home. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, even though we would not normally use this hotel chain!

Even though it is hokey, a trip to the U.F.O. Museum ($5 per person for age 12 and up) downtown is fun and informative, and there is some great artwork. Unless you want books about the museum or alien encounters, save your money and avoid the very over-priced gift shop there!

full town

Not knowing the town was full due to a municipal conference, I guess I was lucky to get a room. That being said- the stuff left behind on the floor alone was large enough to be picked up by one's hand; gum wrapper, etc. Tub had no stopper options for bath versus shower; tub was a corner unit- VERY small. Would only stay here again if the town was full again. (I made the reservation 10 days earlier).

Convenient

My granson wanted to go to the UFO convention in Roswell, N.M., we had a good time. While at the motel 2 things would have been great; 1)a tv remote, 2)and a air freshener/fan in the bathroom. Motel was OK, the location was good, employees were helpful, our stay was more enjoyable than i thought.

The motel was very convenient in it's location, places to eat, shop and short drive to town. It was not pricey, but not cheap. I would stay there again.

Basic logding

This hotel was very basic. The air conditioning in our room did not work and the outside temp was 110 the entire time we were there. The staff moved us to a room that did have AC. They don't clean your room or provide you with fresh linens. I think you have to specifically ask for additional towels if necessary. Staff was friendly. If you are looking for a bargain this is it...not fancy by any stretch.

Poor Service

We came into town to see family and figured our time in the hotel would be limited. So we went for a descent hotel which we initially thought this was. During the 1st night the AC went out so we reported the issue in the morning. We returned in the afternoon and no change so made a complaint again. Later that night we returned to stay in for the night and had to complain once again. The service guy came in and didn't seem to care and said they couldn't do anything and insisted it had been a hot day and it takes time to cool off. The fact that there was no cool air coming out of the vent meant nothing to him. He finally said he would bring us a fan. The fan helped some but it was still an uncomfortable night. The next morning we were checking out but still complained and were told sorry and they would have it fixed so they could occupy it again. Nice to know once you check in they don't care.

Miserable

The stay would have been ten times better if the AC worked. At one point it was 84 degrees in our room and the hotel staff would not let us change rooms.

Traveling with kid and pets

We were in town because my husband was taking a class over the weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful. We traveled with our dogs and our daughter. My daughter loved the indoor pool. It was nice to have a fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. It was clean. We had a couple quiet nites of sleep. Beds are not that comfy but what do you expect? Over all I'd say it was a good stay and would stay again.

Pay a bit extra for a better stay

No microwave, coffee making facilities etc just a room with a bed, bathroom and tv. Spend a few bucks more and stay elsewhere.
