The Colt Motel is located on the historic Santa Fe Trail just off the I-25 in Raton, a small rural community nestled in the beautiful mountains of northern New Mexico close to the Colorado border. We are a Magnuson Hotels affiliate, and are within a stones throw of downtown with many of the town's restaurants and amenities in walking distance. Guests will enjoy being just a short drive to hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, and golfing. The hotel has high speed internet access and laundry service. Small pets up to 20 pounds are accepted for $10 per night and pets above 20 pounds are accepted for $20 per night.

Unexpectedly Quiet

The desk was friendly on a very busy Fourth of July weekend. Parking was tight and the hotel itself was in the 50s style. Although it didn't look like much, it was restful and had everything you'd want in your room, ie tv, refrigerator, coffee maker, good supply of towels.

older hotel, yet comfortable

Older hotel, clean, comfortable beds. Not fancy by any means, but reasonalby priced, convenient location, easy access ice machine, individual garages

Worst Motel Ever

Worst Motel Ever

[...] should absolutely not offer this motel from hell on its website. The room was unheated ! The staff supplied a portable electric heater. Unbelievable.The bedding was stained and worn. The wireless internet service didn't work. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else. You've been warned.

You get what you pay for

Room was clean enough, but in generally poor to fair condition (bathroom window cracked, bathroom tile broken/missing); staff required credit card information even though I thought the billing was done thru Orbitz; chose this facility based on price & reviews, but not likely to stay at this facility again

Do Not Stay at Colt Motel Raton

Colt Motel Raton, NM was very old and run down. The shower was dirty and there was a half eaten hamburger in the refrigerator. Room furnishings were so old and dirty, that my wife refused to stay in this motel.
