very accommodating
After 12 hours of driving and arriving at 2am in the morning I was greeted warmly at the front desk. The first room I was given had a problem with the window... it wouldn't close or lock. I promptly returned to the desk and was given another assignment without hesitation. The continental breakfast the next morning was a step above what I was expecting. I would definitely stay at this location again... thank you LQ!

Hotel was nice --- but
Hotel was nice, room was very good. Unfortunately, the hotel is next to train tracks and we were constantly woken by trains. Seemed to come by every 20-30 minutes.

Surprisingly good stay in Gallup
Rooms were clean, noise was not bad except from the room directly above us - sounded like the people were running laps in the room. We requested a room on the side away from the railroad track and never heard any sounds from the trains. Pool area was clean, breakfast was ok and there was plenty of food. Overall, not bad for Gallup. The double beds are not queen size - they are full size. We got a king and there's a hide-a-bed and/or cot if you need it for the kids. The cot was very uncomfortable according to our daughter.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
There is an Albertson's about 2 miles west (I think) and a Dominos and Papa Johns pizza if you want to order in. I wouldn't do much driving in this town after dark on a weekend.

Restful in Gallup
I was passing through Gallup, NM on a trip to CA. The entire hotel was clean; business center, room, breakfast, etc. Bed was good for a hotel; but not home. (Is there ever?) Staff was very friendly, both night and morning folks. Don't expect to be real close to eaterys though. You have a Denny's next door and the Casino down the street, but regular "family" places are about 4 miles down the interstate.
