Just passing through

We were just passing through and didn't do much but sleep there, but it was fine for that. There was some fraying at the edges of the carpet, and a large ink stain. The heater turning off and on was very noisy. The beds were decent.

Details, Details, Details!

My wife and I reserved a non-smoking room through an online reservationservice. We arrived at the hotel on 6/21/2013 and checked into the room. We walked into the strongest smoked-in room I have ever been in. I went to the front desk and asked about why I didn't have a non-smoking room, as I had requested. I was informed by the front desk clerk that the hotel was completely booked and this was the only available room at the time it was booked (6/16/2013). I went back to the room and called the online booking service. I was told next available rep would be 30 minutes, so I waited and sure enough 30 minutes later, I spoke with a customer service rep. After explaining my situation, I requested the online booking rep ask the hotel why we could not have a non-smoking room, I had specifically requested a non-smoking room as was indicated on our Booking confirmation printout. No one had informed us they could not meet our request until arriving at the hotel. The online booking customer service rep contacted the hotel and called me back informing us again that the online booking company can not quarantee what the hotel will book and that the hotel stated they "could not see" our request from the online booking company, but the hotel would try to accommodate us. I then went to the front desk and showed them our reservation printout which clearly indicated a non-smoking room and was informed by the desk clerk that the hotel could not see that request at the time of the reservation, but had just had a cancellation and we would be given a non-smoking room. The room we were changed to was a very nice non-smoking room. I made 2 suggestion to the individuals I spoke with to pass on the online booking company and the hotel corporates. 1) Consider putting the disclaimer on the online Booking confirmation under Traveler Information/Hotel information/Hotel/Hotel details/Requests at the bottom of the section in bold and larger tyoe. I could not even read the disclaimer on my computer and had to print out our confirmation to be able to read the disclaimer. 2) To the hotel, when accommodations can not be met, please, notify the patron prior to arrival, if at all possible. If I can see it on my reservation the hotel must be able to as well. One hour went by to accommodate our change by which time both of us had headaches which cleared up within 30 minutes of leaving the smoking room. That hour was well spent. The rest of the trip was uneventful. Thanks to the individuals who worked with us to make our accommodations acceptable.

Great Value

We stayed here along with various members of my extended family to attend a wedding and family reunion. We enjoyed the central location of the hotel, and the friendliness of the staff. Rooms were clean and the folks taking care of the rooms were very quick to help with anything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

okay place to stay for 1 night

Was not bad for one night. We were put on the end of the building by the stairs and that was not real quiet. The staff was not very polite. Checked out in the am was not asked how everything was or anything like that. Bathtub was clean but the floor was dirty & had hair on it.

Don't Wind Up with a Smoking Room!

The staff was very sweet but the hotel did not guarantee non-smoking rooms. When we arrived late Saturday there were no non-smoking rooms left and it was too late to find another hotel--especially one that allowed dogs. So, we suffered through a room that reeked so thoroughly that all our clothes, bags, hats, swim suits, and towels came home smelling like smoke. I will never subject myself or my family to that again. A miserable experience.

This is the second time we've stayed at La Quinta! Needless to say we love this hotel. It is very clean and comfy and the staff are always ready to help. The continental breakfast is simple yet satisfying. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We'll be staying there again next year!
