Budget motel with outdoor pool and free Internet near Carlsbad Caverns
The Motel 6 Carlsbad NM boasts an outdoor pool near the very beautiful Carlsbad Caverns, Whites Animal Kingdom and Living Desert State Park. The property also sits near many restaurants and shopping. Business travelers appreciate the on-site business center and free high-speed wireless Internet in all rooms and common areas. There also is a computer in the lobby for all guests to use. Motel Scary!!!!
OMG!!! This was the scaryest place I had ever seen! Soooo bad that my husband and I refused to stay there. Room was dirty and looked like it might be infested with bugs, we didn't even put our luggage down just in case. The lock on the door didn't work and there were people on drugs right next door. They were in and out of their room running around and throwing trash out their door. There was now way we were going to stay there. We would rather sleep in our car. Please don't stay there if you value your safety and health!!

Good deal for money
I recently stayed in the Carlsbad Motel 6 the evening before a visit to the caverns. The location, and Carlsbad in general, seemed safe and the hotel was just what I needed. Clean, good tv and fridge/microwave. Bathroom was clean and the door locked and worked well. Heater also worked well on a chilly evening. Location was just OK; not super close to the "downtown" food area like most hotels, but not too far from the caverns. I would recommend this.

Better than i expected...
...i chose this hotel because it was cheap. I was pleasantly surprised when it was clean, comfortable, quiet, and located near everything in town. The only staff i saw was during check in and check out because everything was taken care of beforehand. The rooms are a little small but we didn't need suites or we would've stayed elsewhere. The grounds were secure and easily accessible. Color me happy...we'll stay here again.

Happy's, right across the street, has great food, friendly people, and a quirky, fun atmosphere. If you get a chance, make sure to drop by.

Just what we were looking for
We asked for quiet, we got quiet. We asked for no room service, no one bothered us, ever. When we needed anything (toilet paper, soap, hair dryer), we asked and got it right away.

good for working man
Parking on the north side was too small for crew cab dually that I drive. I had to backup and then pull up and then back again to get out. I didn't want to park on the other side and walk that far, plus climbing the stairs, to get to my room, plus not being able to look out the window and do a visual check of my truck.

Personnel were polite. The room evidently was too far away from the router. We never did get online. We had to drive to Mc Donalds to get WIFI. Light bulb out on one side of bed (Discovered to late to get it corrected). It is a vintage Motel 6 and it shows. HEAVY disinfectant smell.

Overnight Trip
It was adequate for an overnight stay to go to Carlsbad Caverns. The interior was worn-out. Room cleanliness could be better.
