Hot and Noisy
Room and hallway were hot, AC was very noisy, price was high, breafast shutdown at 9:00AM.

Good Hotel, but a little pricey
Took a family trip to Carlsbad Caverns (two families). This was probably the nicest hotel in Carlsbad, however it was a 45 minute drive to the caverns. We made a return trip in the evening to watch the bat flight, it was interesting. The hotel is at the far end of town. It was nice, but overpriced. Our room looked clean, but when we misplaced something and checked around the beds, we found it quite dirty. Our wall looked like the wallpaper had been taken off and not replaced; there was drawing on one of the walls in the hall. The staff was nice and friendly, the breakfast was good. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. There are fast food places across the street. The air conditioners are window units and very noisy. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it would have been nice to have another hotel choice.

Book a tour in advance or get there early. You really need to take a guided tour in addition to the self guided tour. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the caverns. It is actually 45 minutes from the hotel to the caverns.

Nice place to rest in Carlsbad!
Very clean! Noisy in the morning when they are rolling carts to clean the rooms. Cinnimon rolls are excellent in the morning!

It was great.
It was great! Everything was the best. It was a Sunday and I was heading back home to Texas. My daughter needed to print her homework and I was able to because there was a computer and printer. The dining table was excellent. There was a T.V. which you can watch while eating. The pool area was near the pool which made it easy for my girls to have access to the pool. Also next to hotel there was a mini mall (Carlsbad Mall). The river was also near. It has a little beach so kids can go in to swim and play. They also have a pedal boat and boating activities rental.

BEST NEWS EVER
After having a NOT good experience in La Quinta at Fort Stockton, this hotel (Holiday Inn Express) seemed like paradise. We were on our way back home. We were grateful for the clean bedroom & bathroom. The breakfast room was cheerful and clean; good food + service.
