Day's Inn near Caverns
Very nice, clean room with large bathroom and tub, comfortable bed, computer desk and flat screen TV. Also had mini fridge and microwave, plus in room coffee. Breakfast was fair--usual quick type breakfast fare with waffle irons. Pool and hot tub available although we did not use. Close drive to Carlsbad Caverns and fairly close drive to most local restaurants We would definitely stay here again. Value was great for the nice accommodations. Usually considered a budget motel, this was a lot more than expected.

Carlsbad mishap
I booked a Non-smoking room and ours stunk of cigarette smoke. It was a Wednesday night and it was not that full that we could not have been given a different room. The trash was piled outside our door when we checked in and still there when we checked out. They did not inform us that the streets were under repair or that a local attraction had been closed for months. Do Not Go Here.

Cavern vacation
Room was ok, but staff were not very helpful Motel was overpriced, for the money should have stayed at the Holiday Inn, or Best Western.

Carlsbad disaster
We tried to check in around 5pm. The staff were busy fielding calls about broken plumbing and other problems. There was a sign referring to diseases in the pool. The staff seemed confused and one of them dropped the f-bomb loudly in the front lobby. We left and stayed somewhere else.

Closest to Carlsbad Caverns
Nice at a very reasonable price for Carlsbad where most hotels are seriously over priced. Beautiful lobby and breakfast room. Better than average free breakfast. I downgraded the cleanliness because of a grease stain on the bedspread when we arrived. Had to get a new one from housekeeping. Much of the hotel has been nicely remodeled. Outside work is ongoing and when completed will really spruce up the outside. Wifi was erratic. Staff is friendly and helpful. 30 minutes to caverns visitor center. Several good restaurants a couple of miles north. Several standard chain restaurants within a mile.

First to be positive the beds and bedding were very comfortable and clean. Toilet leaked at tank and soaked carpet awakened 5 am by noise upstairs and outside window. Pool and hot tub closed did npt know until after arrival

Conveniently located to Caverns
It was clean, affordable and friendly with many amenities. We were there on a very crowded holiday weekend, so the breakfast bar was fairly empty by the time we got to it. Other than that, everything was fine.

not bad!
We needed a hotel for one night so that we could visit Carlsbad Caverns. The hotel was fine for our purpose.

Be sure to stay close to the office, as the wireless internet signal is not very strong. I was advised that that would be upgraded soon. The hotel is in the process of redecorating and doing a very nice job.

No biscuits!
The hotel was a little pricey, given the area and room size. Continental breakfast did not have biscuits and gravy.
