Great Value, Clean, Awesome Theme
I really loved staying at the Nativo Lodge. I was in town for a conference downtown, but all the rooms were booked so I chose the Nativo Lodge even though it was a few minutes up the highway. It was the perfect choice. The theme is a little over-the-top but I like it--it's like staying in a Las Vegas resort or something. The room was comfortable and clean. The king-sized bed had the most comfortable comforter ever and the Aveda shampoo/conditioner was a great touch. The staff was also super helpful--I needed to reprint my conference paper and they were willing to do it for free from the front desk. The breakfast buffet was skimpy for the cost, but it worked for us since we had to leave pretty early. I would definitely stay here again--the cost was extremely reasonable for 2 nights and the hotel was much nicer than anything else. I am pretty cheap when I travel so I know what it's like to stay in the worst hotels ever, so trust me, this one is perfect!

Happy in ABQ
Satisfied
I have been traveling to and from Albuquerque for several months and have stayed at 5 or 6 different hotels throughout the area. I would have to say this was the friendliest and most accommodating staff. The hotel is a little older but has a visually appealing atmosphere (which was a nice change for me). The room was clean, I had blissfully hot showers. I didn’t hear anyone in either the hall or next door. The next time I go to Albuquerque I will definitely be staying their again.

Short drive from hotel
If you are traveling a lot and need a change from your standard deep fried dinner or lunch, I would highly recommend Sweet Tomatoes an all you can eat salad bar (with soups and other items).

comfortable beds, nice decor
I stayed here for 8 days. I enjoyed the room and the stacks of nice pillows on the bed. Great value for the price (which was a 2 for 1 special when I stayed).

Native Indian theme is attractive
I would consider it an average, satisfactory experience. The room was small and the bathroom had no ventilation (which was VERY inconvenient.). The breakfast buffet was very reasonable at $7, but was not appealing; a special ordered breakfast was more attactive. Any staff we encounted was pleasant, but the room didn't get cleaned for three days (the maid would show up at 3 PM when we were back taking a rest. after we'd been gone for 5 hours). After 2 1/2 days we emptied the waste baskets ourselves...no big hardship!

Not great
Requested non-smoking room - corridor smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Given another room which was already assigned to someone else. Finally, on third try received room. Maintenance is sadly lacking. Housekeeping began 'slacking off'' by third day. Reservation was for 6 nights; we left after 4th night.

Authentic Southwest Hotel
This hotel had the perfect southwest decor, was in a good location, had beautiful native american atmosphere, adequate gym facilities and the breakfast was fantastic. The room itself was very clean and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The staff was polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again next time I'm in Albuquerque.

ok experience
An hotel with a good idea for the area (Southwest Native American "theme") that lacked a follow through in terms of overall ambiance. Near northwest area restaurants and interstate access. But basically underwhelming and ,for me, not a return site.

City View = LOUD view of Highway I-25
We booked this room in advance through Orbitz. It wasn't cheap. The interior of the hotel has a beautiful Southwestern flair. The front desk staff was "snooty" and said she was providing the City View room. Sounds lovely, when in fact it faced I-25 and the noise was horrendous. In addition, there is no sound buffering from the parking lot. We heard every car door, every voice - you name it. Stay away from the "city view" or I-25 unless you prefer not to sleep very soundly.

Conference
Overall experience was very good. Great atmosphere. The only complaints were, my 7:30 wake-up came at 7:45. My friends and I waited at the bar for the restaurant to open, which it never did, I saw a cockroach in the bathroom, however, if you have ever been to New Mexico and it is raining (which happens maybe 2 or 3 times a year), then you know it is not that uncommon to see bugs. The conference was at the hotel so it was pretty much hassle free. It is a beautiful hotel and overall a very good experience.
