Loved the Native American motif

Room was as represented online with lovely Native American touches in massive lobby & in rooms. I was told when I made my reservations 1 mo. in advance that I'd have to have a ground floor room as I had a pet. I was given a top 5th floor room on arrival with a lovely mountain view & balcony which is what I wanted in the 1st place. Since it was Cino De Mayo the 1st night of my stay at the hotel, it was packed with LOUD, rowdy, drunken clientele covering the lobby, hanging off balconies hootin' & hollerin' and with lots of children monopolizing pool & spa area & running through the halls in their wet suits leaving large water puddles everywhere including the elevator. This was all going on between 8-9pm as I was checking in. Luckily my room was quiet, clean, very comfortable & far from the maddening crowds. Next day most of the crowds were leaving & the pool was mysteriously closed for "cleaning & maintenance" so I never saw the outdoor tepee or indoor/outdoor pool. Although their restaurant was never open as stated, there was plenty of choices in the neighborhood. I would have given the hotel 5 stars except for a couple of problems. NO fridge & microwaves in rooms & for a 2 night stay it was very inconvenient to take the elevator to another floor to find the few ice machines available to make my tiny ice chest into an icebox for my needs. They are also pet friendly for a $25 one time non refundable fee. I loved the hotel & I'd stay here again, but not on a holiday.

Great location, not so clean

The rooms need upgrading. We had a blood stained chair in our room and dirty pillows. The shower was so dark I had to leave the shower curtain halfway open. It's not the cleanest place to stay but I like the location.

Moths and ice buckets

Desk staff was wonderful at check-in. Lobby decor is stunning. However, that's where the magic ends. When I tried to pick up the ice bucket from its location on a shelf above the TV, I found out the hard way that it was never emptied by housekeeping and ended up drenched--and so did the TV. Front desk staff wouldn't answer the phone so had to go down to get towels. Also, Albuquerque was experiencing a huge moth infestation, but there should NOT have been so many in the room and hallways. Staff should have been more proactive in dealing with the problem. Room maintenance left something to be desired--finding working electrical outlets was challenging, among other things. Bed was very comfortable and AC worked great.

Elephant Bar restaurant. Don't waste your time on dinner, even though it was excellent. The desserts are unbelievable--we had the creme brulee and apple-blueberry-walnut cobbler. Yikes!

Feels like New Mexico!

This is a uniquely decorated, very comfortable hotel. The staff was more than friendly and helpful. It's right by the freeway making it convenient but it wasn't noisy. The only complaint I have was the barking dog across the hall. The bar is cozy. We didn't eat there so I can't speak to the restaurant.

Great place, wonderful people

My girlfriend and I went to stay the weekend at this lovely hotel The staff was super friendly, it was located close to pretty much everything there is to do and the price was great. When you walk into the Nativo Lodge, the decorations are beautiful and give you a definite feel for the Native American theme. The lobby has a neat little bar there where you can get drinks without leaving the hotel if you choose. There was a Bar Mitzpah while we were there and I have to say, we had NO idea and we were only 4 rooms off the lobby. They close the hallway doors and there was not a sound to be heard. No freeway noise, nothing. The staff was super friendly and helpful in finding places we were looking for, and after 11 they lock the front door for security, so you will need your room key to open the front door as well. Made me feel safe. The king sized bed was PHENOMENAL comfy and I would absolutely recommend this lovely hotel to family and friends. I will be staying there again and again.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Don't forget to go to the Tramway for the longest lift to the top of the Sandies, less than 30 minutes drive. Check the mountain first to see if it's clear then drive. Usually clear around 4:00 pm $17.00 to the top. Great view.

Old Town rattlesnake Museum is a stand out , especially for the youngsters, however us 55 year olds enjoyed it too. I even bought the same rattlesnake mug Craig Ferguson has on his show . Also the Dinosaur museum is in this same area and great.
