Typical Motel 6 Experience

The best part of my stay was the friendly and professional manner by which the staff conducted themselves.

Not bad at all

This was a middle-of-the-road experience. I liked the location; right off the interstate. The room was updated and clean. No problems with staff. My only real complaint is the archaic practice of charging guests for WiFi use. Oh, and the WiFi was pretty slow. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this for a cheap stay.

Perfect for either overnight stays or to put your stuff while you're out on the town.

First of all, I called the day I was supposed to arrive to inform the hotel we would be checking in after midnight and they annotated my reservation. When we got there, the desk clerk immediately greeted me by my name enthusiastically and added we've been waiting for you. Check in was quick and pleasant. The room was average size and it was just basic. There were no amenities other than a TV and an ice bucket in the room but we knew that was going to be the case before we booked the room. It was perfect for us as we spent most of our time out and about. If you plan on a lot of activities, then there's really no need to have an expensive room. The only negative remarks are that the parking area was difficult to get in and out of because of vehicles parked on the street. And, if you're not familiar with the area, it's easy for your GPS to fool you into getting into the wrong lane and causing you to go the wrong way. The other disappointment was that I didn't really save any money using a travel site to book through. We paid the same as anyone else booking the same room off of the street. But that's not because of the hotel. All-in-all, for our visit to Albuquerque, this hotel met all of our expectations and their customer service exceeded it. No regrets whatsoever.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

There is a Walmart close by in case you need something. There are several places to eat and shop very close to the hotel so you don't have to search far. To include a Denny's nearly right across the street. After driving to it, we realized it was almost quicker to have walked it.

Outside looking in

Didnt get to go in. Mainly using previous motel 6 experiences for the review. Requested early check in and arrived about 11. Front desk said that they could not accommodate until 2 or 3 pm. What am I supposed to do for 3-4 hours in a city I do not know with tired kids and a car full of luggage? Ended up cancelling and finding a hotel down the street that could accommodate our early arrival. Still, had I stayed, it was decently priced and in a good location.

An Over Night Stay

Motel has recently been updated. The room was in good order with excellent flat screen TV and wall connections. WiFi was available for an additional charge. Bedding was spacious with adquate covers and pillows. Bath facility was good and room heating and air conditioning was excellent. There was no microwave or refrigerater or clock.

Super clean, modern decor

A great value for a very clean and comfortable cheap motel. Not sure if it's all Motel 6's, but this one and the one in Santa Barbara had the same modern design with no rug, which makes for a super clean motel room. Not sure why all other cheap motels aren't moving to lineoleum floors. Not fancy looking, but very easy to clean, and what more do people want when renting a cheap motel but a clean comfortable place to stay. Comfortable bed, no breakfast, but a clean room, and the Denny's across the street is good enough for me. Far from downtown Albuquerque and the airport, but no more than a 10min drive without traffic. On 40 West, so a good spot if you're heading on towards Arizona/Gallup.

Best value I've found:

Shelves instead of drawers and coat racks instead of closets is a concept that should have caught on long ago.

Horrible

This hotel is horrible,we got kicked out the last day for no reason,if the receptionist don't like you they simply don't deal with you and they have the security take you out, this is a experience that we have never encountered in my whole entire adult life, it was humiliating. I won't recommend and I don't recommend anyone anyone to go there please. They have a security going around the facility telling everyone that at 10 o'clock there is a curfew I've never heard such a thing, and you can't be out of your door steps. On top of that they don't clean the rooms every day, they have a problem with giving you towels and they don't want to warm up your food.
