While in Albuquerque with 2 business associates, we were placed in this hotel for several nights. To sum up our stay: - we ... left after one night it was so bad - one associate had to move rooms 4 times due to unclean rooms, broken locks, and worse - there was a constant stream of homeless people in and around the hotel, raising security issues - the staff was completely incompetent

Head up to the next major street north - Louisiana - to the the "Uptown" area - high end shopping, restaurants, and lodging, all in one place and nicely done.

Up All Night Troubleshooting
Road Dog Aug 10, 2009
Traveling cross country, it was very important to have internet access for a variety of reasons. The internet at this ... location was up and down all night. Staff made it clear that the problem had been occurring for at least a week, but we had no idea until we checked in. Since it was considered an amenity, staff just shrugged it off. Finally, at one a.m., I reached my limit. Went down to the front desk and got a toll free trouble number, the previous two given to me by La Quinta reservations were incorrect. Called the number and, after twenty to thirty minutes, was told there was indeed a problem. They would have it fixed in an hour or so. I finally got internet service at 3:30am. I had an hour or less to try and get everything I needed done before the net crashed again. I gave up, got a few hours sleep and yelled at Orbitz the next day, til I got a refund for the stay.

We were on the first floor and could hear everything on the second floor. It was about 2:00 am and the people upstairs were ... still making noise, walking around the room, and we could not go to sleep. The room also smelled like cigarette and we sked for a non-smoking room.

The staff was very nice but the room was so dirty when we checked in. You could tell they did not vaccum or sweep and mop. ... The shower head was coming out of the wall and the water never stayed the same temperature during a shower. I will not stay there again!

Everything was fine with the La Quinta I-40. There is a tiny Denny's conveniently located in the parking lot which was nice ... to go to at Midnight. The only problem was getting into the area due to the construction at the San Mateo exit.

Upon Arrival, which was at 10pm,I had noticed Major Road Construction in this location. Upon request, I was also able to be ... placed in a lower level room, as my companion was unable to use the stairs to reach a second floor room. The Room was clean, with fresh coffee and towels awaiting me. For the price, I was very suprised, and I was very pleased. Fresh Fruit, uffins and juice were served for breakfast. Kind of sorry to see there was no Newspaper to read. A New York Times, WSJ, or even a USA Today would have made for a very nice experience, I highly recommend a stay at this Inn if you are in the Albuquerque area.

Great Centrally Located
Gerald Sep 1, 2008
The La Quinta, was very nice and clean, with a great location to all in town. The room was nice in size, with internet ... service. Nice eating location close by. It was in short driving distash to about every where we wanted to go. Good eating location close by also. Altho the smoke alarm went off three times while taking a shower, and was never fixed while we were there. The TV remote had to be replace. The help did not know much about the area, so could not tell us directions to many place's. All and all was a nice place and would most likely stay again.

Not a great choice
Edith Sep 1, 2008
I had stayed at the La quinta in phoenix which is why i chose this chain for my trip to albuqueruqe. The neighborhood was not ... the greatest one and my hotel room was supposed to be a non smoking room, but had quite an unpleasant smell, It is a fairly old hotel and the over all cleanliness was not what i had expected. I am glad i only had to stay there one night. There are a few shopping options around but nothing extraordinary, dining is very limited, i like local places but there were more chain restaurants.

Hotel personnel does not have customer service skills neither the ability to handle more than one customer at the same time. The breakfast area is messy.

The La Quinta Inn was ok. It was really cheap, but a bit run down and not as clean as in could have been. The walls were ... pretty thin. I heard the people upstairs walking around pretty easily. The location is central and close to the interstate, but not in a great neighborhood. If you want a cheap place, the La Quinta is ok, but you get only what you pay for.
