Can be better
Good location, nice lounge on the roof, friendly stuff, but one gets no help coming in with luggage. The food is stale. The hotel is smoke free, but I could smell tobacco in the bed sheets + I found a roach in the room.

Great Place I'd Stay at Again
This is a beautiful and fascinating hotel. The decor is amazing - almost like touring a museum. The beds are fabulously comfortable and the decor is wonderful. Easy walk to downtown and just off freeway, with the wide grounds and nearby park it feels more rural. The staff was absolutely fantastic - excellent shuttle service and attention. Drawbacks: weak shower pressure (although the showers themselves are nice and roomy), and very limited restaurant menu. Breakfast is basic. While the flavors of quiche are nice it would've been better to have the options of eggs, pancakes/waffles, fresh fruit other than pastries, cold cereal, and one kind of melon fruit salad. Coffee wasn't great and there are no options other than cafe and decafe - not even flavored creamer.

The lounge has a wide variety of alcohol but if you're looking for a meal skip it. Many local restaurants within walking distance.

Beautiful and Friendly
Modern and very comfortable. Patio was comfortable and fountain created a relaxing atmosphere. Hot tub was clean and private. Room was a little small but comfortable. Bed provided an excellent night's sleep. Sheets were soft! Breakfast was upscale and provided variety. Loved the modern decor! Great restaurants in walking distance. Wonderful bar on roof top with great outdoor space with great view of the city. Pet friendly! Very relaxing stay!

Not just the same old thing
This hotel was refreshingly different architecturally, beautifully and thoughtfully restored from an old hospital both inside and out. A wonderful roof terrace and paved garden area were an unexpected pleasure. The rooms are not large but very well presented and equipped, the numerous staff particularly helpful and friendly, and the shuttle bus was readily available to take us anywhere. Breakfast was also very good as were light meals from the roof terrace bar . The only grouse we might have was that for us hot drinks were an issue as there are no facilities in the rooms and the coffee/hot water vacuum flasks available 24 hours were often tepid; the staff would renew them willingly if asked but a better hot drinks system would have made the place pretty perfect. We would go back tomorrow, but maybe with a travel kettle.

Great place to stay
Beautiful and excellent staff. Great location. Rooms are a bit small for the US - more like European size. Amenities included breakfast ever morning with wonderful quiche, fruits, pastries and various juices. My husband and I had a wonderful time.
