Good Value for the price

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. Didn't spend much time ther other than sleeping. It was conveniently located. Rooms were relatively clean. Didn't like the pillows. Way to big. hard on neck and shoulders. It did offer hot breakfast but did nt look appetizing at all. Kids ate a bit. Coffee was good.

Just need to be clean

I had to be moved to a another room because the room i was assigned smell dirty and the carpet was very dirty. I ask to be moved down stairs , where the room and smell was a little better. The carpet needs to be replaced in the whole hotel . Your cleaning staff needs to do a better job, the sink is very dirty around the handles. When I got there I had to stand in line of complains, three families where ahead of me, and no that didnt affect my own experience. My experience was mines. The smell along was enough., but you did have a great staff. the laundry guy was soo nice . he was a older guy.

The good, the bad, and the really ugly

Telephone in the room was dead. Reported it, nothing happened. Channel 17 (Fox News) was frozen. Reported it, nothing happened. Some other channels had no sound. Lavatory drained very slowly.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Applebee's, up Gibson from the Hawthorn, corner of Gibson and Yale, was a very pleasant place to have refreshments.

Friendly & Convenient

FREE, EASY INTERNET ACCESS. What this hotel lacked in updates, the staff made up for it in friendliness, courtesy, and helpfulness. The rooms were clean, but average. You can tell the hotel furniture gets a lot of use. Nice having a fridge, microwave & wet bar in the room. The breakfast bar had variety of hot & cold foods. It was surprisingly delicious & kept well maintained. It was nice not to have to cook my own waffles :) The pool was smaller than we liked, but not crowded, so it worked out. Close to the airport (1 exit away), beautiful view of the city & mountains, close to Ihop, Fuddruckers & a few other fav's. Not far from Walmart & a stone's throw from the Isotope & Lobo stadiums. Overall, it was suitable for what we needed and we'd stay there again.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

We loved the Sandia Peaks tram, the zoo & botanical gardens (it's deceivingly small on the outside-bring walking shoes) - but arrive to everything EARLY. It seemed many attractions close by 5pm & authentic mexican restaurants by 8p or 9p. Old Town was a great place for unique gifts & history. You MUST taste the soapadillas at Casa de Benevides!

best and worst

The hot breakfast was extra good -- better than the 3-star hotel we had just stayed in. Eggs, hash browns, bisquits/gravy, etc. The room was ok (I would have said pretty good, but there was a dead bug on the floor, which made it just ok), but the neighborhood is pretty rough. Arriving late at night with a young child was scary. It was very close to both freeways, though.
