Good for the price, not the best service

For $44 I got a king size bed, mini fridge and the other usual amenities. I was happy with all the physical aspects of the place, but the service was lacking. From the minute I checked in there was this sort of apathetic rudeness from the owner, and that continued through my stay. Whatever my request or question, she seemed shady, irritated and all around anxious for me to leave. I even caught her entering my room for no other reason than to look inside of it. Not a nice lady!

A Good Value

A good value hotel for the price. Clean room and bathroom. Close to the business meeting and Central Ave has plenty of restaurants nearby.

Didn't live up to expectations

Nothing special about this hotel: it made me suspect that very positive ratings of this hotel are written by insiders associated with the hotel. Noisy area. Pool had been closed as of Oct. 1 but there was no notice of this when I made the reservation (chose hotel largely because of pool for my kid). Bathroom door was broken and wouldn't close. Breakfast was the worst i've ever seen-- no hot food at all, not even a toaster! Just cereal and wrapped pastries. Staff were unfriendly. Good restaurant (The Grove) across the street, and great diner (66 Diner) about 1/2 mi. away.

Decent stay

While the staff was not hostile, they were not helpful, either. The advertized 'business center' turned out to be one computer in the lobby/dining area that is locked at night until 7am, and there was no printer. The bathtub fixture to turn the water on was lying on the bottom of the tub, although I was able to use it to turn on the water. Breakfast was stale convenience store doughnuts, cold cereal, and maybe a piece of fruit that was eatably ripe. The room seemed clean and I was never threatened by anyone in the neighborhood. It was a place to stay and I guess it was okay for what I paid.

AVERAGE STAY

ACTUALLY IT WAS A GREAT LOCATION. JUST MINUTES AWAY FROM THE ZOO AND FEET AWAY FROM THE INTERSTATE WHICH WILL GET YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO GO. THE ROOMS WERE PRETTY CROWDED, BUT I WILL SAY THEY WERE CLEAN. FIRST ROOM THE AIR DID NOT WORK, BUT WE WERE QUICKLY MOVED INTO ANOTHER. IF YOU NEED EXTRA TOWELS, BLANKETS, ETC. IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 15-20 MIN TO RECEIVE. OTHER THAN THAT, WE COULD NOT COMPLAIN, SINCE WE ONLY USED FOR SLEEP AND SHOWER.

Great place to stay, good location

This is a great place to stay. It is within walking distance of downtown, the train station, and several major buses drive stop right in front of it. You can take the 66 or 766 buses to head to major tourist destinations. The hotel room was clean, well furnished and had some extras, including a fridge, microwave, and full ironing board. There are a couple of places to eat down the street, but there is free breakfast from 7-9am. The things I didn't like about the hotel was that the towels were often not throughly cleaned, as I found a couple of stains on them. I didn't have a problem with it, but some of the guests were a bit noisy, which may bother some other travelers. I was in town for a conference, but chose to stay here to save almost 75% over the conference hotel's cost. If you are looking for a convenient place to stay at a low cost, I would recommend this place.
