We stayed for a weekend just past peak season There was no front desk staff and no housekeeping on duty. We had to bang on the front desk to get the attention of the staff in the back to check in. We were not advised there was no housekeeping -
just came back to an unmade up room. Then back to banging on the desk to ask questions. The pool was closed. Very disappointing.
Had a great time staying at Cara Mara. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I liked that it was off of the boardwalk a couple of streets because it was quieter. Just far enough away that you could still walk to the boardwalk. Many
resturants within walking distance also so you don't have to worry about paying for street parking every time you leave the hotel. Just one block away from the beach, and the beach isnt as long down in the crest so it doesn't take forever to walk to a good spot to settle in. Over all it was a fantastic relaxing vacation and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others as well. Thank you Cara Mara!
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
We had a rainy day when we stayed so we took a trip to Cape May. It's only a 15 minute drive away and there were many things to do including wine tasting, visiting the lighthouse, shopping on Washington Street, and going to the zoo. Just bring and umbrella!
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean. One bedroom, two beds, pull out sofa in main living room, and a well stocked kitchen would have fit the whole family nicely. Directly across the street from the ocean ("Crest"
sign). We could watch the waves from our third floor room perfectly. Pool and playground looked fun for young kids too! Descent place for not a lot of money.
