Don't stay here

The man when we got there said he didn't have our reservation. Then when we were going to the room he said no I have to switch your room. The room door didn't close all the way unless you slammed it with everything you had. The lady at breakfast used the same runner gloves the whole 45 minutes we were there for breakfast and also used the same napkin to wipe stuff down. When we turned on the air conditioner some dryerlint looking substance was flying out the vent. The place smelled. Go somewhere else.

You do better for less money

I've stayed at plenty of cheaper hotels and motels, and know exactly what to expect out of the EconoLodge brand. I know I'm not going to be getting Egyptian cotton sheets and waterfall showers at $52/night, and that's ok. That being said, however, this was well below the mark of acceptable. Stayed here on two separate occasions in two separate rooms. First room: Second floor. Hallway was freezing, which is ok I guess (I didn’t plan on sleeping in the hallway, after all). Walked into the room and it reeked of curry. You could tell that there were people staying there that were probably using that location as a home since they would stand in doorways with tank tops on, talking to each other across the hall while little kids ran up and down. Room was painted a very obnoxious yellow/green (almost neon). Was told there would be a coffee maker in the room… there was not. TV was a standard tube with spotty reception. Mattress was a little too firm for my liking, but I won’t hold that against them. Bathroom was bad… leaky tube faucet that went all night. Tub and sink were both cracked and had rust stains. Hairdryer smelled like burning plastic, to the point where I didn’t even bother using for the rest of the stay. Breakfast was.. there. They had one of those waffle makers. Orange juice machine was out of order, had to get it out of a coffee carafe, tasted very watered down. Coffee was cold and undrinkable. Alarm clock would not work. They charge $1/night for having a safe in the room, regardless of if you use it or not. Free Wi-Fi was available, but I must have been in a deazone because none of the signals were strong enough to do anything. Second stay: First floor. Not as cold in the hallway, but I was also by the boiler room. Still that same smell, though the kids weren’t around as much. Still no coffee maker (even though it was listed as an amenity), but there was a microwave. Room was quite obviously used as a handicap accessible room in the past as the bathroom was enormous and the room itself was also quite large… they tried to hide this by putting mismatched furniture in odd places. Much cleaner this time, no leaking faucet, though the sink and tub still had a lot of cracks. TV reception was better (still a standard tube set), as was the Wi-Fi. Breakfast was the same… juice machine still broken. This place has the location and set up to be considered a great value, but the staff doesn't seem to care and the ownership doesn't seem to want to invest in minor updates that would make this place really shine.

Suggestions

As a single gent traveling for business on a budget this was right in line with how much I wanted to spend. Front desk staff consisted of family members who clearly could have cared less that I was a customer utilizing their business. No hello, no have a good night; just business. Requested a non-smoking room but received a room with cigarette burns in the walls, bed spread, blankets and furniture. Room smelled strongly of cigarettes. Antiquated television. Towels were ratty, continental breakfast was at the bottom end of the spectrum (chocolate brownies, waffles, juice). Shower/tub needs to be re-caulked and the mold scrubbed out. If I could do it over again, I'd crash somewhere else and take the hit in the wallet, but if you're on a budget and are incredibly lenient, you'll be alright here.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Cruisin Diner is directly beside the hotel. Tasty food, but constantly empty to the point where i wondered if there was something I didn't know about the restaurant. Is it haunted?

GREAT SERVICE ''BUT''

THE INSIDE OF THE FACILITY WAS CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED--THE BREAKFAST AREA WAS FAIR---HOWEVER THE OUTSIDE AREA WAS A DISASTER---THEY ARE EITHER LAZY OR BLIND THERE. GARBAGE LAYING AROUND EVERY WHERE---A SIMPLE THREE HOUR JOB OF CLEANING THE PARKING AREA WOULD HAVE IMPROVED THE PROPERTY IMMENSELY BUT FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT AND THAT OUT SIDE ARE IS A DISASTER.THE VIEW FROM THE ROOM THRU PATIO DOORS WAS A SORE SIGHT-ONCE AGAIN TRASH ALL OVER.

Worst Yet!

I was supposed to have a refergirator in my room, although the motel was almost empty there were 'none available'. My iron was missing, the ironing board broken. I went with staff while they searched rooms for an iron and board. There was NO coffee maker in the room. The side walk to the office from the room building entrance was icy. Won't ever stay here again. Stains on the hall and room carpets. Took a whole day and pluggig the bottom of the doors with towels to heat up the room. Hall ways have NO heat.
