The Atlantic Motel

This was our second time traveling to this hotel. We went in 2005 and found our other hotel did not save our reservation so they had openings here and took us in. The place is nothing great at all but cheap and a 10 min walk to the boardwalk, since they were able to take us last time we booked with them again. From the moment we walked in to check in we were greeted by two very nasty women who gave me quite an attitude because while I booked a room with 2 beds they said we only booked for 1 bed and needed to pay more. I know for a fact that I booked 2 beds so told them they were wrong and then they proceeded to tell me I was trying to sneak more guests in, that they will just cancel my reservation. Now I found out they are saying that we broke stuff while we were there....half the stuff in the room was already broken but our card was charged an extra $120 that I am disputing now. Steer clear of this place and pay a couple more bucks for a nicer place with less attitude and no shadiness!

Filthy and rundown

This place was terrible went to check in and they charged us more than they were suppose to because of us staying one night. When we got to the room there was mold in the shower and the room. Smelled awful. Me and my friend ended up sleeping the car and calling this motel a lost.

I was under the impression that they had AAA discount and the manager rudely informed us it WAS NOT, also I will have to double check that they did not charge my credit card, because I was charged the night I arrived and asked to pay in cash, the room was dirty, with stained towels, sheets, floors, and an VERY SMALL bathroom. Hotel maintenance was very nice and offered us extra towels and supplies if we needed, and hotel was cleaned daily but you wouldn't tell by stained supplies. The pool was also very dirty and unclean. Needless to say we will save up extra money for a better stay else where.

The clerk had no record of our reservation. Demanded we pay an extra $12 "mortal fee," which he couldn't define what it was for. When we finally got to our room, there was NO electricity, NO A/C, and not only did it take him forever to get to our room, but he could barely speak English.

To whom it may concern, I am writing based on my weekend stay at the Atlantic Hotel in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Upon my arrival I should have known it was going to be a bad experience when my reservations that where made 5 May 2011 through [...]was not found by the attendant there at the front desk. After 30 minutes it was decided by a few gentlemen to honor the quoted price. We checked into room 16 which over looked the pool which at best had a green tint to it. I complained and was told we can use two other hotel pools up the road The Village and cannot recall the other hotel this was unacceptable since I brought my 3 year old granddaughter. This was to be a THREE STAR hotel it was much WORST, I am an active duty Soldier and we would not allow our Soldiers to stay in such a place to including my tour in Iraq. Where to start the rug was spotted and disgusting, the shower was mildewed and water leaked out all over the floor during each shower, the covers where stained we would not use them on our beds I had to go out and purchase blankets; I have pictures to back up my situation that I have not downloaded since we just got home last night. This was all the first night then on Sunday we went to the beach for the day and returned at 1600 hours and the room was not cleaned or beds made. We needed new towels at least to get a shower for diner when I went to the front desk he took me to the back I got a pile of hand towels and floor towels there were NO clean towels; my family had to use the beach towels we had for Monday's beach prior to coming home. This was a bad experience for my family, I was embarrassed and the staff was no help. They could not give back money it is their policy!! Plus I had my family set into the room and unloading a 3 year old and her items was work enough. I feel that this situation needs to be addressed.

No remote for TV, and very small, almost a closet. Bathroom was so small I had to sit sideways to pee so my knees wouldn't touch the wall, lol. But overall not too, too shabby.

In a purely utilitarian sense, this hotel gets the job done. It was dirty under the bed and their was fecal matter left over from a previous guest in the toilet. Other than that, it was fine for a Friday night's stay. It's 5 minutes walking distance to the center of town,and 5 minutes walk to MTV's Jersey Shore house. I did have a parking spot included, which was nice.

COULD HAVE BEEN EARLIER CHECK IN LATER CHECKOUT

Booked a Queen Size Bed, received a full size bed, hotel charges an extra connection fee not mentioned anywhere, overcharged me on taxes too. Pool chairs were broken and dirty, maids were drinking beer and smoking, room was dirty sheets were stained.
