The worst experience ever!
I returned to the hotel at 2am to find the room as I left it in the morning. My wife had to make the beds, I had to request new trash bags and fresh towels. The guy at the reception was alone, but was very willing to help. I don't recommend this hotel a first and last experience with Howard and Johnson.

Not the greatest place
A few friends and I came to this hotel because it was to expensive to stay in new York when we got in it stinked like cigarette smoke and it's a no smoking room. When I jumped in the shower I promise you I seem mold going all aroud the shower ceiling. My Causin that came with us works for an apartment complex and she looked at the mattresses and said that our beds had bed bug covers although we did not get bit I still think that's just Nasty. Oh and if you have a car you will be charged $15 per night to park.

Not what I was looking for
Bad location, bad smell in the hotel and room. $12 per night to park at the hotel on top of the room cost. Not impressed and would stay there again.

Howard Johnson Newark
I appreciated that this hotel was close to the airport, had a free shuttle to and from the airport, a taxi service available and an affordable shuttle service available to and from NYC. The staff was very friendly and the food at the restaurant was great. The price was awesome so the hotel served its purpose on my trip.

Take the shuttle from the Newark Howard Johnson if you are staying there. It was affordable and it drops you have and picks you up right in the middle of the city on-time!

Food for a quickt night stay
If you're going to sleep just for a few hours, this hotel is perfect. Close to the airport, kind of clean and good price. Anything else is below average. The staff is very rude, 3 of them, 2 at the counter and one bus driver. I went twice in the last month and I had issues with the shuttle service (took me 45 to 55 minutes for the bus to arrive). The problem is that the staff denies it in your face.
