A Nightmare!!!!
Tim Dec 16, 2009
Our experience at the Hotel was horrible. I have never seen such a rude and disrespectful staff in all my life. My partner ... and I upon arrival to the hotel got no type of greeting from the staff. They just took our reservation number and ask for my credit card to hold the deposit and gave us the key. I asked which way to the room and got an attitude from the girl which was very unprofessional and rude. The next day Wednesday November 18th , after being out all day in New York City my partner and I return to the Hotel and realize the heater in our room no longer works. So I call down and request to have someone come up and look at the heater. I was told someone will be up shortly. Two hours go by and we are freezing in our room by this time so Chris my partner goes down stairs to find out if someone was going to be able to come fix the heater that night. The manager on staff ([...]) laughed and said the best we can do is give you more blankets. Chris then returns to the room and tells me what happened and I immediately call down because I find that to be unacceptable. I'm told by [...]that the only room available is on the first floor and we can move our stuff to that room. Chris and I agreed to look at the room first before making a decision on moving. We go down stairs and I get the key from the Manager and we go to room 146. The room was dirty and it smelled awful and it was just completely not up to standard. So we go back to the Manager and tell him we don't want that room and does he have anything else available. He told us a room on the 5th floor is available but it's not going to be cleaned until the following day and we can come down in the morning if we want it. So Chris and I went back to our freezing room and slept there. The next morning/afternoon Thursday November 19th I woke up a was full blown sick. I was running a fever and coughing, sneezing, body ache, and all of the above. I came down with the flu and couldn't get out of bed. Chris went down stairs to the store inside the Hotel and bought me Thera Flu and some cold medicine and while down there he asked about the heater situation in our room again. [...]the night manager was there. Chris asked him if we can get our heater fixed in our room now because I was upstairs sick and it was freezing in there or can we get another room. [...]proceed to scream at Chris and told him that he tried to give us another room last night and we didn't want it so we can take our money somewhere else because the Holiday Inn doesn't need our money and to get the "F" out and through the another room key at Chris. While this is going on down stairs the maid comes into the room where I'm sick with the Flu and is wondering why we are still here because the Manager checked us out the night before. By then Chris comes back to the room almost in tears from way he was just treated. Another maid comes up to ask Chris if he is ok because she saw the entire thing. One of the ladies goes over to the heater and checks it and it's not working still so she tells us to hold on and she will call someone. At this time the phone rings and I answer and it's [...]telling us that we need to get out of the room because the entire wall unit has to come out and he hung up. So I called him back down there and one of the employees answered and I said may speak with the manager on duty. [...]gets on the phone and I asked him why he thinks it's ok to speak to us like that when all we asked for is to get our heater fixed or get transferred to a new room with a working heater. He told me he doesn't have time for this [*] and we need to leave the hotel. I told him I've paid for these days and unless he wants to give me a complete refund of all my money right then I wasn't going anywhere. He told me again to get out because he doesn't have time for our [*]. By now maybe five minutes have gone by since the maid step out on her phone to call someone. She comes back into our room with a man who looks to...

This was a great location for this hotel. But it does get kind of loud because of its proximity to the airport. Also, I ... wasn't a fan of the bed, just a little too hard for my taste. The food that they have available is great! There'a bar, a convenience shop, room-service and a deli; plus it's available 24hrs. There were plenty of TV stations, though they do need to upgrade to HDTV.

When we arrived the service at the check in desk was ok, not rude but not very friendly at all. Then the bathtub in our room ... was dirty. I didnt even want to use that bathroom. Room service was good and prompt delivery. When I called the front desk a couple times the line kept ringing and ringing. In the morning when I called the front desk and asked for toothpaste I was told they have it at the front desk and I should come down and get it. I asked if they could bring it up and I was told maybe we will try but it might be a while. Toothpaste never came.

The Good, Bad & Ugly
Amy Dec 7, 2009
We were there on vacation. Going to NYC for the Christmas Lights & shopping. But the Staff were not very friendly and ... especially not helpful. The small cafe that serves salads, sandwiches & etc. used to have breakfast sandwiches. They no longer. A big let down from our experience in February of this year. Overall the rooms were very nice and clean. They needed to have more towels in the room. We had 4 people and only 4 towels and 2 washclothes. Towels were used up quickly. They were replaced the next day, but again only 4 towels and 2 washclothes. Not a deal breaker though. I would return again if the staff changed their attitudes. This hotel is close to what we had intended to do over the weekend.
