A few of my friends and i wanted to do an inexpensive weekend trip, so we went to Newark to visit some friends. This hotel was in the perfect location! Food was in walking distance as well as the train station to go to NY. Not to mention it was affordable for a group of college students on a tight budget.

Between flights
Except for the late 3PM check-in date, which makes it really inconvenient for you if you arrive in the morning, the hotel is a good choice in downtown Newark with easy access to NYC.

Great for the price
We wanted somewhere not far from the airport where we could rest our heads after a late flight and it was perfect - nice, clean room and lots to choose from for breakfast the next day.

Perfect for a business trip...
Overall, this hotel was a nice place to stay. If you are traveling for a business trip, need to travel back and forth to NYC and are looking for a cheaper place to stay, this is the perfect place for you. It was a short distance to the city by the PATH train (the Newark Penn Station is a short walk from the hotel, about 10 minutes) and only took about 20 minutes to get to NYC. The only major downfall for this hotel is that there really isn't much at all to do in the area. Unless you have a car or are willing to travel to the city every night, you will be stuck in the hotel with nothing much to do. Also, the hotel food wasn't that great for what they charge. However, like I said before, this is a great place to stay for a business trip, especially if you do not want to spend an arm and a leg like you would in NYC.

I reserved a none smoking room, but they were going to give me a smoking room, after arguing with the staff they give me an handicap room wich i refused. so finalley after 45 min they give me a room in the lowest level of the hotel which no one has been there in a while.

averagely decent
Average in every way. Not special...but not scary either (and in NY you can certainly find scary at this price). Plusses are that it's close to the Newark Path station that goes direct to WTC, the rooms are decent. The breakfast room is quite good. And good value. But nothing special.

My wife and I stayed over Saturday night and went to NYC via the PATH trains. Everything was close by and the room was very clean and comfortable. We'll definitely be going back.

A Little Business and a Little Personal
The hotel is in the heart of the business district of Newark and very convenient to New York locations. All the staff were very friendly, the rooms are a decent size, the bed very comfortable. The decor of the room and the Hotel was nice. The refrigerator in the room was an added convenience and the continental breakfast was filling. I highly recommend this Hotel for both family and business stays. I look forward to another stay in the future; this was my second stay this year.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Take a short walk to Newark Penn Station which is connected to the Gateway; which has numerous food vendors and other shops. Also just a short Path Train ride to Newport Mall or NYC shopping.
