BEST WESTERN PLUS Newark Airport West

there were a few stray hairs in our bathroom and the parking lot is a little scary but overall this was so much better than i expected it to be! the room was totally comfortable

I'd read the other reviews with some trepidation but the room was very clean, two big and comfortable double beds. The room was newly refurbished and absolutely fine for a late arrival and a one night stay. Absolutely no complaints - we were really pleasantly surprised and it was much better than the airport Hilton we'd stayed at previously. Will certainly stay there again on our next trip. There was a free shuttle from the airport and in the morning to Newark Penn Station. Also thrown in was a free buffet breakfast which, while averaged, covered us until New York

Location was a bit awkward. Nothing in walking distance but very close to airport which was what we needed. Room was VERY spacious and EXTREMELY clean. Staff was courteous and helpful and arranged a car to take 6 passengers into NYC. Had a meal in the restaurant, nothing fancy, but more than adequate. This is not a fancy resort. It is an airport hotel and met all of our needs.

Our stay was very pleasant. Room was very clean & comfortable. Great having the shuttle to & from airport. Staff very courteous.

1.When the kids were about to go to sleep wee took off the blankets and we saw that the sheets on the bed were dirty we called the riception and asked to fix it. We waited more than 3 hours and still nobody came. During the 3 hours i called a few times and i was answered that someone is on the way to fix it. It was midnight and when i saw that nobody is coming i had to go downstairs to the riception and to get the sheets and to make the kids bed (that's the hotel obligation!!). 2.When we came back to the room each time i had to go up&down because the key card didnt succsseed to open the door. 3. The Wi-Fi didnt work, and it made my work impossible. 4. The breakfast buffet were closd at least half an hour before the actuall time, while guests were still eating the breakfast buffet were cleared.

The staff was very accomadating and the hotel interior design is modern. Room was spacious. Enjoyed the breakfast. The location really needs some landscaping. It's behind an office building. The empty lot in the back is terrible.

[...] We had to wait over 2 hours after we returned to the hotel after our trip to get our car. It was parked in by 10 other cars and they use ice buckets as their filing system for the keys. The front desk staff was rude and overall parking was absurd. The location is also very scary. It is at the end of a dark alley. The shuttle bus driver actually asked me to back out my car because he was not comfortable backing out my SUV. This guy drives the shuttle bus!!! Also, they cannot pick you up at the Arrival Terminal. You need to take a train/bus to another remote location. If you have a lot of bags this is a huge hassle. Beware of this hotel!

The outside of this hotel was ugh! The room was very nice and clean. It was quiet and the breakfast was very nice. The staff were nice. I think they were remodeling so the outside is getting a face lift. I was surprised the rate was higher when I used the Internet. Had we called the hotel directly it would have been $12 cheaper. But the clerk said since I paid for the reservation through [...], I couldn't get their rate.

The hotel is impossible to get to. There was a big accident on the turnpike the day I was to check in, and it was physically impossible to get there. They refused to give me directions, and then would not let me cancel my reservation.

We chose to stay at a hotel in New Jersey because it was cheaper than staying in New York, where we were actually visiting. The Hotel was located in an industrial area in the back of an alley way...very scary. When we drove up the parking was horrible. There were two rows of parking with about 10 parking spots in each row. If you drove through the parking lot to the end there was no where to turn around so you had to drive out in reverse. There was consturction going on outside so the you had trucks blocking the entrance and the parking lot. The hotel had two shuttle vans to the airport that blocked the entrance to the hotel and parking area. Because it was located in an industrial area there was no on street parking. It was just horrible! However, on the good side the hotel itself was very nice. The room was clean and well decorated. The free breakfast and breakfast area was very good as well. And the employees were very polite.
