Candlewood Suites JERSEY CITY

I stayed at the Candlewood Suites at Jersey City for just a night for business. The suite was clean & big. Had a nice big desk, living area with a couch etc., a separate bedroom w/ a nice comfy bed and a good size bathroom. Had a nice kitchenette too, with a fridge, oven & microwave w/ utensils. The location was great, close to the Path train. The few negatives were - $10/night for parking which I wasn't aware of & no real curtains for the windows besides the see through ones. Those minor ones aside, great location & a good place to stay.

awesome hotel but not sure for the value since i am from the south and the price seemed kind of high; but since right across the river from NY, it is probably reasonable.

The room was fine, with all the accoutrements of home. Some of the furniture was a little worn, and the hotplates gave off a strange odor when turned on, but otherwise my stay there went smoothly. I enjoyed the food area and the workout room. The staff was very nice, kindly, and attentive.

I enjoyed the ease of being near my conference, yet paying much less. Having a full kitchen enabled me to eat healthy and save money. This hotel is conveniently right on the light rail line and relatively close to Liberty Park. The staff are very helpful.

I am thinking of moving to NY because I work there a lot and I love the city. A friend suggested that I check out the up and coming Harborside district in Jersey City as an alternative to living in the five boroughs. In the end I was not disappointed. I commuted to midtown Manhattan daily and it took me forty minutes to an hour. This was fine because it gave me an opportunity to ease into the day. The hotel was perfect with everything I needed and more. The only thing that was missing was a broom. The shuttle or light rail gets you to the PATH within minutes and I didn't feel like I was missing anything not being in NYC.

Staying at this hotel is the simplest way to find out how good it is.

It was located facing a parking lot where a floodlight blazed into my window all night, and the curtains in my room were designed for decoration, not to cover the window and increase the comfortability of the room. I heard people dragging luggage and slamming car doors all morning (starting at 3 a.m., I figured, because of so many nearby airports). Then, at 5 a.m., a neighbor two suites down the hallway (NOT my immediate neighbor) turned on the television as loud as possible. I called the front desk to ask for them to solve this problem, but they didn't do anything. I walked down the hall and figured out which suite the noise was coming from, and banged on the door but nothing happened. I returned to my room, called the front desk to tell them the specific room number, but they didn't do anything. I called the room, but nobody picked up. Finally the front desk had me change rooms to sleep soundly, and let the person continue to run their television at maximum volume at 5 a.m.

It seemed that guests were typically ignored. Just not very customer centric.

great hotel very dissapointed in a delayed flight and not getting reinbursed for the shuttle which i never got to use and paid for due to a cancelled flight

Hotel was very nice. Great location - close to PATH train, large mall, restaurants. Definitely would stay there again.
