Shuttle to Penn only 2 x daily
My husband and I and 2 friends were in NYC to go to the US Open, shop and see the museums. I was mortified to find out that the prominently advertised shuttle to Newark Penn Station only runs TWICE a day (10:30AM & 3:30PM), making the commute to NYC an expensive logistical nightmare. We had to take 3 different train systems and a bus or taxi to get to and from NYC - exhausting!!! Otherwise, the hotel was clean and adequate. The hotel restaurant was just so-so.

"clean and accomidating"
Really liked the cafe that was open all the time for desserts, coffee drinks and light meals. Staff was very accomidating. Hotel was difficult to get to from highway and not much in close proximity.

Family Stopover
Nice clean room. Unaware that there was a $20 a day parking fee prior to booking my room. I would have relocated from around the airport if I knew that. Checked in at midnight and hotel staff mistakenly booked me in a handicap room with a corner shower. I had to come back down to have it changed. My new room 725 lost partial power on Saturday morning for about 1/2 a day.. No TV.. Not what I called first class. Other then that it was very clean and comfortable..

They did not have our reservation when we arrived there and we had to wait 1hour until get the room. The when we had the room somebody call us to change the romm to another room after 5 hours to be there. When we left the computer does not show our names and we will appear like not register in the Hotel. The hotel is Holiday Inn.

Newarks Crowne Plaza, Maybe . . .
The building is a lovely structure. It is clean, comfortable and has many ammenities. Upon arriving I was impressed with it's decor, but soon realized the the front staff wasn't as pleasing as the structure. Not rude or discourteous, just not very friendly or informative. I was impressed with the fact that I was able to check in 2 1/2 hrs. earlier than check in time. A big plus from me for that. Paying $23.00 per night to park was also a bit steep as well. The rooms were small, but comfortable, clean and Big the Flat panel TV's made it better. The maid staff was surprisingly much more cordial than the front desk.( Three different front desk persons were encountered and the same apathetic demeanor was to be found in each.) Because I am not a needy person, There assistance was not heavily required so their dispositions did not hamper my visit. Would I return . . . Yes!

Great hotel, parking Sucks
This hotel would have been perfect but for a small few details. We went to New York for a week. This was located in New Jersey. It was very close to the attractions, or at least within 20-30 minutes driving distance depending on traffic. The rooms were immaculate. The only problem was that with this being such a high class hotel, why wouldn't they give their patrons free parking. We were charged $23 a night to park. Because of this we were forced to park a block a way and walk to the hotel every night since we were out all day long. Also the pool was a bit small for my taste. Small and shallow. Only went up to 5.5 feet. The atmosphere was good and the hotel looked RITZY. Get rid of the pay to park and we can live with the small pool.

Be prepared to park in New york and walk. Don't pay for toll. Pay for the week in a rental car.

Easy, convienient and, nice.
The hotel was nice, staff was friendly, the only issue I found w/ my room was that the shower had no threshold to keep the water from spreading over the entire bathroom floor.
