Family trip to New York
I chose this hotel because of the cost savings compared to nicer hotels closer to and in NYC. My family was on a 2nd floor room. It was clean and adequate and the front desk was responsive to questions. The 2nd floor hallway smelled and my kids didn't like the hallway smell at all. Thankfully, when you got in the room, the smell went away. Breakfast is excellent with a bunch of choices. While the location is fairly good (35-45 minutes by public transit), you have you know what you are doing. That's probably true of NYC in general. On respective days, we used both a bus from the Allwood Park and Ride and a train from the Delawanna station. Don't leave late and expect a parking spot at the Delawanna station. I never used the bus stop on Kingsland Road near the Clifton Commons Park and Ride. I guess you could if you are willing to walk there. I didn't because the Park & Ride parking is limited there and I didn't want to have to walk back to the hotel a night. On that note, I got the feel that the immediate surroundings have a lot of state college students. If I ever come back, I might choose the same hotel in Secaucus but that was more expensive and I wasn't able to switch the reservation at the time I checked. One more thing, getting to the western bound side of the highway from the hotel is a little tricky. I recommend using the hotel exit onto River Road and having a GPS.

Good Value, Good Staff
This hotel is in a convenient location and accepts pets. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The late-night front-desk man gave us directions for open restaurants, and the cleaning staff kindly made certain we weren't disturbed too early in the day. The hallways of the hotel are worn down and the carpeting is piling. But the room was recently renovated, and had newer carpeting and furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. I did not avail myself of the free breakfast, pool, or fitness room. Overall, I would say that this hotel is a good value.

Exactly What I needed!
We wanted a conveniently local hotel that was clean and accepts dogs. That is exactly what we got. Now, if you're one of those "obscure nail people" who deliberately look for nails sticking up in vague, obscure places, this place is probably not for you. The hotel is dated looking and the carpet is old. I am realizing that people over time look at old stuff and say "it's dirty" when in fact it really isn't, it is just "old and dated." The room looked clean and smelled clean. The sheets were clean, bed was comfortable, and yes I checked for bed bugs...there were none to be seen. We had a huge bathroom, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and a one cup serve coffee making. I was new to the one cup coffee maker, I thought the carafe was missing, it was not. Hotel is located on Route 3 with a beautiful view of NYC. Sports stadiums are nearby. If you want convenience and cleaniliness, this is it. Obscure nail people, go elsewhere.

Run down
This hotel was very run down and needs a face lift. The hallways were dingy and the carpets were stained and old. The room was ok, it was large, but that's about it. I would not stay again.

Second Time
This is my second time staying at this hotel. First time was good, no problems, stayed at the first floor. The second time though it was rough. The first day when I arrived i swear i booked a non-smoking room but i was put on the top floor all the way to the back, which was a LONG walk with all my luggage! second day we were transferred to a non-smoking room. The there was only 1 elevator working which EVERYONE had to use.. Breakfast wasn't working for me at all! just go down the road at Ihops or Tik Tok diner. overall, the location was ok because i knew ahead of time that there was construction around the entrance and it can get tricky, my advice just slow down before the hotel and look for the space for the entracnce.

Friendly staff for the girl on the go!
Ive not had 5 star treatment in a while even at 5 star hotels. I stay at hotels at least once a week sometimes twice a week. I travel, a lot! This location is by far my new ATF! The staff Is FRIENDLY, courteous and efficient. Not only is the location uber convenient to access, there was no hassle with extending my stay and grabbing extra towels. A better and less expensive option for the "meadowlands" area. There's a La Quinta 3 miles away that's more upscale in their ambiance, but their service can not compete with this location. Highly recommend. ;)
