- Area description
- Centrally located in historic Cape May across from the Beach. Cape May is not only the oldest seashore resort in the country but also one of the New Jersey Shore's most treasured towns. Much more than a summer beach town, replete with those standards like mini-golf and arcades, taffy shops and custard stands, Cape May hosts an array of cultural events all year long. Events in Cape May include: Cape May Stage, the Cape May Jazz Festival and the New Jersey State Film Festival. More than just events in Cape May, visitors get lost in stunning sunsets amid one of the most breathtaking natural seascapes and birding locations along the eastern seaboard. World-class restaurants have lent Cape May the moniker as the restaurant capital of Southern New Jersey. With friendly neighbors and small town warmth, Cape May gives you access to everything (a diverse selection of shops, antiques, galleries, pubs and nightspots) with nothing more than a short bicycle ride away.

They DON'T allow kids. The place is like a nasty old grandma's house
1. I arrived and they told me "no kids under 13." Nowhere on their website does it say this. Nowhere on this booking website does it say this. In fact, this site lets you book this hotel when you state specifically that you have kids. Maybe Virginia is afraid to advertise its discriminatory policy. 2. The description says "the design is a blissful fusion of Victorian charm and contemporary edginess." More like Victorian staleness and sternness. No edginess here, I promise.

anniversary
The Virginia Hotel is an upscale Victorian B&B with a contemporary flair. Our room was very comfortable with an almost "trendy" decor. The bathroom was small, but tiled and modern. There is a full bar and the restaurant is superb....too much food, but excellent. The staff was very freindly and professional. The hotel is near the beach and the shopping area. It was a fantastic place to spend our anniversary. We will be back!

This was our first time staying at the Virginia Hotel. The service and accomodations were excellent. We loved the lounge/bar area. It was warm, inviting and relaxing. The breakfast was more than we anticipated and was delicious. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping.
