What you would expect from a Hampton Inn

We were visiting friends in Trenton and found the location easy to access and convenient. The hotel was clean, well appointed and maintained, and quiet. Breakfast was fairly standard for this chain. A good value. Plenty of restaurants nearby, from fast food to family friendly chain restaurants.

Hampton Inn Bordentown, NJ

The staff was friendly and very accomodating, however the maid service "forgot" to clean our room we had to call the front desk and they rushed clean towels and hey who hasn't sleept in an unmade bed before?

First impressions do matter!

I called a few days in advance to confirm my reservation. The clerk answering the phone was extremely short and not helpful at all. She was not willing to help but instead told me to call my travel agent, then hung up. I did just that. My agent then conferenced all of us. Once the Hampton clerk was done speaking she hung up. I was not done yet. As a customer I felt my needs were not being addressed.Perhaps she was having a bad day but as a company representative her bad day should not get in the way of manners and respect for customers. Not knowing what we would find when we checked in we found the complete opposite. The staff we dealt with in person were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were neat, well kept and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was so much more than we expected and were pleasantly surprised. Other than the first - negative- impression we had a very enjoyable time and would recommend this location to friends and family. That first impression almost cost the Bordentown Hampton Inn a customer. I am glad I gave them a second look. The only reason I am giving the staff a 4 and not a 5 is the reason mentioned earlier.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Downtown Bordentown is a very short 5-7 minute ride and offers some excellent restaurants and used book stores. Well worth the trip.
