Signature Trump glitz and one of the world's largest casinos
The Donald must be a gambling man. A casino-centric resort, the Trump Taj Mahal is set on 17 acres of beach and Boardwalk real estate works hard to offer eclectic decor and plays hard in the slots, table games and poker departments. Opulent, Trump-style touches play off the palace theme in rooms and public areas. Stay fit and feel great in the Taj Spa & Fitness Center, a therapeutic enclave with an indoor pool, Jacuzzis, steam bath, workout facility, and TLC-minded pros at the salon and spa (daily fees apply).
Highlights
- 19 dining choices include 4 formal restaurants, Hard Rock Cafe and Starbucks
- Voted "Best Casino" by the readers of Casino Player magazine
- Adjacent to the Steel Pier amusement park rides
- Taj Tower's legendary Penthouse suites
Rooms
Ocean views, from partial to panoramic, fill guestrooms that deliver wireless Internet access (fees apply), premium mattresses, coffee stations, makeup mirrors, on-demand movies, games, and digital music. Features
In ode to the hotel's name, interior design at the Trump Taj Mahal is on a grand scale. Seven two-ton elephants carved in stone greet arriving guests. Seventy minarets adorn the roof and $14 million USD worth of German crystal chandeliers hang inside. Carrera marble adds glitz throughout the property. Gaming is king here in Atlantic City at one of the world's largest casinos. The party continues at two performance venues and a handful of bars, lounges and dance clubs open as late as 6 a.m.
Dining
Curb any hunger craving at Taj's 19 restaurants, cafes, sandwich shops and specialty eateries. Burgers, pizza, noodles, soup, Zagat-rated Italian cuisine, steak and sushi top the list. In early 2011, look for an outpost of the Atlantic City icon, White House Sub Shop.

Good location not so good of room
Vacation prior my boyfriend and I stayed in the chairman tower. Room was very modern. This go around we stayed in the standard room. Didn't feel modern or warm at all. Bathroom was outdated room decor outdated. They slapped a mini flat screen in the room and thought that they modernized the room but epic fail. The location was great however. The casino was lively. Loved all the places to eat that it had to offer. Bottom line I would only stay again if I book a chairman room. Do not go standard!

Good but old
When I saw this hotel for $60 I was like oooh, ahhh, since I heard great things about it in the 90s. Now I know why. They haven't updated this thing since the 90s. The rooms are super old that it's almost disgraceful and you have to pay for everything including tooth paste, tooth brush, and boarding pass printing. I strongly do not recommend this hotel.

My Trip to the Taj
My stay at the Taj was short. Check-in was fine. The lady who helped me do so was pleasant and helpful. There were no shortage of emplyees in the lobby area to help me with my bags and steer me in the right direction towards my room. The room was pretty clean and had a really large bathroom. Not enough towels. Room service was attentive albeit extraordinarily overpriced. The most unpleasant and confusing part of my stay happened when a woman dressed as an employee let herself into my room @ 8:30 AM on the morning of my check-out for no apparent reason. I asked her to leave and she complied. I still dont know why she was there but I was to busy packing up to complain to management at the time. That was pretty weird. Aside from that it was a decent place to stay for less than a hundred bucks.

just okay
the temperature control was not working in my room and the safe locked also was not very clean upon my arrival. only after several calls to front desk was the safe open and the heating issue never resolved. its close to the boardwalk and has lots of nice dining options but as far as the room it was not up to par.

Just Okay
This opulent hotel has a lot of pluses. However, our TV was unhooked, one of our chairs was old and falling apart, and the smell of smoke everywhere in the building wasn't great. It is a beautiful hotel. We had an incredible view, but I found my stay just okay.

Pleasant stay, I would return
Pleasant staff at check in and check out. Clean room and comfortable. Only issue is that the taps for the sink are reversed and hot water is suffering from very low pressure/low flow rate.

Do not eat at the Asian restaurant located behind the high rollers area. Bland overpriced food; the cook out front does not communicate with you, even if you are sitting at the bar at his station. He deflects all conversation to the waiters.

Avoid this hotel
I wouldn't recommend staying at the Taj Mahal unless you get a REALLY good deal. For what we paid it was not worth the money. We had dreadful service at the Safari Steakhouse. The food was good, but the waiter was rude and unprofessional. After midnight it was difficult to get food at the Taj Mahal. The wait for room service was over 2 hours and the wait at the restaurant Plate was more than 30 minutes. The room was okay; a nice size but the AC was cool but not cold (on high). The carpet in the room was wet and dingy. The Trump Taj Mahal is not focused on customer service.

glad it was only one night
Needed a room for one night since we were in town for a concert. Check in was quick and friendly. our room was just serviced as we arrived and we found food on the floor (looked like french fries and part of a burger). After shaving it took hours for the sink to drain, not a nice site. There was no outdoor pool at this "resort" hotel/casino. The sun deck was on a roof near the air conditioning equipment. There were two hot tubs that were "residential" type units (fits 4 very cozy!). No beach access from this location, you needed to walk through the casino or convention floor. One restroom on the casino floor was disgusting with a pungent odor, no area looked clean (did notice the attendant on a cell phone outside the entrance). I did not have high expectations and since we were only there one night (actually only hours) we did not waste the time to complain...but never again, not as a patron or a guest.
