What a great trip!
AC first timer Nov 23, 2009
Our stay at the Tropicana was wonderful! Our room was located in the West Tower and was clean. The room had a mini fridge ... which came in handy many times. The house keeping staff was very pleasant and did a great job. We spent most of our time gambling at the craps tables. I've been to Vegas numerous times, but this was my first trip to AC. The casino employees were much more friendly and would even make helpful suggestions, as this was my first time playing craps. The food at the Tropican was amazing, P.F. Changs was my favorite.

A lot of time and Money went into the Casino and Shopping areas of the Hotel. The rooms were OK, nothing spectacular. Decor ... needs to be updated. No flat scene TV's even though many lesser Hotel/motels now have them. However, room was clean and neat.

Nice overall experience
BK Oct 28, 2009
If you're looking for an overall good experience without ever having to really leave the hotel, this is a great place to ... stay. The Trop offers so many food and entertainment options that it makes it hard to even really want to leave. From excellent Cuban food at the Cuba Libre to the exciting club scene, the Quarter area of the hotel is very impressive. The casino offers a ridiculous amount of slot machines and various table games, although I don't think there are enough craps tables. Our room was set in the corner of the casino so it was strangely dark and provided no real good view of anything. Nonetheless, the room was clean and all we really required.

Tropicana Atlantic City room dirty
catchingstars23 Oct 26, 2009
check in was easy and simple and staff accomodating to which tower i wanted. However, the room wasn't that clean with ... obvious dirt - matches, etc on the floor and one of the beds looked like the linens had not been changed. Made me wonder about the cleanliness of the rest of the space. I've stayed here before with no issues, and was surprised at the lack of cleanliness.

Tropciana-Would Stay Again
R. Snyder Oct 26, 2009
Good value for the price. Valet staff had a bit of an attitude and was not very helpful; please note, if you valet your car, ... you are not permitted to take a luggage cart to your room. You can have the staff do so, but be prepared to tip. Overall, though, the rest of the staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel was nice.

HAVANA TOWER ROOMS NOT WORTH the upgrade
LatinaMama Oct 20, 2009
Very disappointed. [...]We were supposed to be in the Havana Tower and they had us in the North Tower. I even called and ... spoke to a manager at the Tropicana to make sure the reservation was correct days before our trip and when we checked in lo and behold it was INCORRECT and Tropicana had no record that I called in. It took us 20 mins to debate with the front desk manager to please correct the error which ended with us paying an additional $38. Then all the hype about the Havana Tower rooms being 4-5 star and top notch and it WAS NOT! Not worth the upgrade. The room was 3 star/basic at best. Would be too small and uncomfortable to stay longer than overnight. If those rooms looked like that and were considered top notch I am scared to think what the other towers' rooms look like. Oceanfront view is not unobstructed...DO not Pay for HAVANA TOWER UPGRADE!!

Good experience at the Tropicana
Rich Oct 11, 2009
We had a very large room on the 48th floor with an ocean view for a very low price. The room was newly redone and spotless. ... Good service at check-in; friendly room maids. We walked along the boardwalk (very convenient) checked out the shops, and ate in a restaurant in the Quarter. It's also convenient to some other AC restaurants (eg. Dock's. We'd definately go there again when in AC.

Tropicana Resort
Sheril Oct 9, 2009
We enjoyed the room and the casinos. The bed was fairly comfortable. Some of the staff were rude or ignored us completely ... when we asked questions. Others went out of their way to be certain we were taken care of and provided helpful information when we went for a drive around the town. The restaurants were good. It was easy to get around the entire hotel complex by using the signs.

While you could certainly spend your entire vacation at the Trop and not get bored, there are so many other places in Atlantic City. Take advantage of your stay on the boardwalk and if the weather cooperates, enjoy a leisurely stroll up to other casinos. Trump Plaza, Caesar's, and Bally's are within a comfortable distance and offer other great restaurants, casino games, and shops.
