Get what you pay for
I went with a friend (we're mid-20's# on a monday - wed. because of the price...can't beat $50 a night. The room was old, the carpet stained in places, the bed was really uncomfortable #there was a strange plastic layer underneath the sheets), the knob in the shower to switch from bath to shower was broken, and it wasn't until our 2nd night that the housekeeper changed the lightbulb in a floor lamp. I understand when certain places need to be closed for renovation, but 90% of the places to eat/go to at night was closed because it wasn't friday or saturday. We enjoyed Cuba Libre twice because the food was so good, and had fun having some drinks at the Irish pub. The pool was small and so chlorinated it was hard to stay in the room. It was fine for what it was, but I doubt I'd go back, there are too many other hotels in the area to try.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Walk out from the Palm downstairs, across the street and grab a Jitney for $2.25 to get to the outlets. It's quick, easy and safe....much better than a taxi.

I wouldn't return...
We booked the Tropicana for $157.00/per night. It had a stand up shower with no bath that had a dip which lead to the bathroom floor. Every time we took a shower, the entire bathroom floor was flooded. There were no accomodations, toothbrushes, iron, etc. I love the shops, restaurants and casino at the Tropicana but they have to do better with the hotel rooms. It was below average. It would've been only $20.00 more per night to stay at the Trump which would have had way better hotel rooms. I guess I learned my lesson.

Good Location, Clean Room
Room was a little on the small size, bathroom was a little small too and nothing fancy. TV wasn't LCD and was somewhat small. Our window view was of air conditioning units or something. But most importantly the king size bed was very comfortable, room was very clean, Tropicana has PF Changs and Carmines Italian restaurant which are both VERY good, especially Carmines. Tropicana is in a good location at a good price so that's why we stayed here. Harrah's has bigger/more updated rooms for the same price usually but bad location.

The hotel was very nice however the tower we stayed in was very out dated. I think it was called the Havannah tower. I would not stay in that tower again.

Overall, for $40/night this hotel was an excellent value deal during the week. The rooms were fine but nothing special. We were a bit disappointed that the majority of the restaurants and bars are closed during the week - be sure to check what is open if you are there during the week.

Ok Room
It is really hard to find the check in counter after hours you have to walk through the whole complex like 20 minus from the parking lot. Other than that average room.
