The Chelsea ushers in a new era of Atlantic City chic, re-imagining the fabled heyday of "America's Playground" for the savvy modern traveler. The first non-gaming boutique hotel to grace the Boardwalk since the 1960s, the Chelsea captures imaginations by conjuring the long-lost glamour and sophistication of this seaside resort town as a magical retreat where leisure and luxury come together in a perfect blend of great service, true comfort, and alluring spaces. Intimate and exciting, the Chelsea exudes that rare sense of ease in a place that, at every turn, affords its guests the choice of pampered privacy, casual mingling and people watching, or an energized social scene. In its 20 stories, the Chelsea offers cosy fireplace lounges, happening bars, and poolside cabanas. Destinations within this destination include two signature restaurants, a saltwater inspired spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a pristine beach with the only full beach service in Atlantic City, providing luxurious towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. The Chelsea's myriad common areas encourage socializing in an array of gathering spots to match any mood. Throughout the hotel, every detail is highlighted by a design and spirit that recall the classic era of Atlantic City's mythic past. From the dark wood panelling, colourful furniture, and dramatic fireplace of the main lobby to the intimacy of the Game Room to the pulsating vibe and cocktail culture of the Terrace Lounge, the Chelsea's design is evocative and comfortable at the same time.

The Chelsea does charge a parking rate daily of $15 plus tax

It was ok...

First time to Atlantic city. The pictures online on the Chealsea hotel site are much nicer than reality. The pool area was poor. Staff were not that friendly behind the welcome desk. Decor needs to be updated. The rooms were ok, beds very comfortable. A great short walk to the beach and the beach was beautiful. The location of the hotel is a long walk away from the major casinos, but it's ok.

Good/Decent hotel at a relatively good price

The place needs a bit of sprucing up in my opinion. It was nice and has a lot of potential but ultimately had nicks and crannies that need repair, not to mention an updated to look to the downstairs pool and seating area. The bar on the 5th floor did have a great view and a few good drinks. The beds were really comfortable, the pillows were really soft and tv was good. The view was nice mostly and the bathroom was better than average. Wasn't happy with the mini fridge which barely even cooled the 20 bottles they had stocked for a huge fee. Location on the boardwalk was pretty good though especially if wanting to be near the Tropicana. A little far from everything else though. Caesars or ballys are both much more central.

Needs some TLC

It's an OK hotel. The room's carpeting needed replacing, the wallpaper needed replacing, the mattress was so-so. The doors should be repainted, etc. - all maintenance items. Nothing was glaringly wrong. The oddest thing, the restaurant/lounge was closed by 10pm. Seriously, in AC the lounge closes at 10? Major fail.

relax and have fun

We were nervous after reading all of the reviews, but we had a great time. the decor was funky and fun. Our room was clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the 4am diner on Saturday night. After dancing our butts off, the diner was great filled with friendly waiters and fun people.

Great hotel for the money

I had a great experience at this hotel. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and very modernly decorated. There is a club on one of the floors, so I was concerned about noise. It was very quiet. We ate breakfast at the restaurant downstairs, excellent food and great service. The hotel was located within walking distance to the beach and the Tropicana casino. My only complaint would be there was not bathtub in the room, only a shower. They also do not have a parking area. You have a choice to park elsewhere or valet for $5 a day or $10 on weekends. I valeted my car and had no problems. Overall good experience and will visit again!

nice hotel!!

my husband and l stayed in these nice hotel x 3 nights. it was so great experience. the room at the 12 floor was big, nice and clean. the outdoor pool was excelent, very friendly the workers who help you at the pool as the securities. nice lounge party at night in the pool, on saturdays! However, the bartenders and some of the waitress who are in the outdoor bar were so rude and unfriendly with us and other customers, it seemed that they did not care about us as customers or they did not work for tips. same was with the waitress in the restaurant on first floor, but the food was great!!it is better to go to the liqueur store around the corner and make your own drinks because these bartenders make you waiting for more than 5 minutes until they can serve you not really good cocktels!when l asked for a margarita it was poor juice, not really good cocktels!! the hotels is in a nice area right ate the beach!! we will come back!!

located well close to

Wish they did not have a valet parking only option and a 5$-10$ surprise fee like Harrah's (ment). We parked the car right here for board walk, and tropicana (Nanking restaurant for the asians or the Rainforest junk) ending with a decent P F Changs are all at walkable distance.

comfortzone

One of the few places to stay on boardwalk w/o casino which was just what wife and I wanted for anniversary. Very nice ocean views. Front desk very helpful as well. Considering area, food was good for price in informal restaurant.

Weekend getaway for couple

Although we only stayed one nite, we were fine with our stay at the hotel. It is very busy on the weekend it would seem but the hotel staff were fine and the room was clean. The bed was very comfortable and had a nice comforter. The valet parking was busy but they were polite. Only downside was no coffee maker in the room and usual check-out was 11 am but thanks to orbtiz listing it as noon, we got until then.
