good price for location
Hotel was located near casinos in Atlantic City. Room was decent enough for one night. Price was definitely a plus.

Good for the money
This was a repeat visit for us at this location. It was fine for the money you spend. This is where we stay for a quick night down in AC when we want to be close to everything and not pay a whole lot. A cab ride averaged 5 bucks. Not bad at all.

most pleasant surprise
From the moment we arrived we The staff were most courteus and helpful. The room was one of the cleanest we ever stayed at. The pool was nicely maintained and the restaurant was great. Though only open till 4pm the food and prices were excellent. The location was mid-way between the main casino groups and an easy walk. The suggestions for places to visit and eat by the staff were all good and we will certainly return there again.

Good spot
Good place to stay for cheap. Board walk is just a block away and most casinos are within 2 to 3 short blocks.

Not bad, for an older AC property
First the good: The staff is great, and very helpful. They offered to keep my bike locked up in the office, so I wouldn't have to lug it back and forth from my room. Although they were sold out of non-smoking rooms, staying in a smoking room really wasn't bad--there was no residual smell of cigarettes. The hotel is in a great spot, a block from the boardwalk, and with a jitney stop right outside. For your spiritual needs, there is a Catholic church across the street. Now for the bad: The place is starting to fall apart. The carpet in my room was torn, the remote for the TV was broken, the pool is microscopic, and the place generally needs to be remodeled. For what you are getting, it is overpriced, but no more so than all of Atlantic City--by AC standards, it's probably a bargain.

Worth what I paid
The Howard Johnson that my girlfriend and I stayed in was very clean. The pool was not available due to the time that we stayed, but the facilities were good. The staff were helpful with directions, and assisted us with getting in the right direction to the Boardwalk. They also made suggestions on places to eat which was really helpful considering this was our first time to Atlantic City.
