Classic Italian style meets modern sophistication at Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City. The first new casino hotel in the East Coast entertainment capital in more than 13 years, the 43-story tower stands as both the largest hotel and the tallest building in the entire state of New Jersey.
Located at Renaissance Pointe overlooking the marina, Borgata brings an all-encompassing, Las Vegas-style travel destination to Atlantic City. The 1.1-billion seaside resort - a joint venture of Boyd Gaming and MGM Mirage - offers a broad range of activities, a brand of hospitality, and a level of service designed to please business and leisure travelers alike.
Few hotels can rival the impressive scale and breadth of amenities. The 125,000-square-foot casino, for instance, holds 145 gaming tables and more than 3,600 slots. Headline acts from around the globe appear at the 1,000-seat Music Box theater, while the 2,400-seat events center can stage anything from major events to top-flight meetings and conventions. Even the parking lot elicits awe with its space for up to 7,100 vehicles.
All 2,002 guest rooms and suites offer Sealey beds, 300-thread-count custom Egyptian cotton linens, armoires with refrigerators, high-speed Web access, and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the city, marina, and Atlantic Ocean. Lavish bathrooms come with oversized glass-enclosed showers, marble walls and floors, granite countertops, Egyptian cotton bath sheets, and all-natural, essence-based grooming products by Lather. The six categories of accommodation range from Classic Rooms to the twin Residence Suites, which manage to pack marble fireplaces, grand pianos, 12-seat dining rooms, 60-inch plasma-screen TVs, private exercise rooms and spas, and butler's pantries into 5,000 square feet of domed ceilings and fresco-painted walls.
Equally expansive - and impressive - the resort's dining selection includes 11 destination restaurants. They range from the modern Italian of Specchio and the prime beef selections of the Old Homestead Steakhouse to the bold French-Chinese cuisine of Suilan by Susanna Foo and the Pacific Rim-influenced delicacies of Mixx. All of the restaurants use fresh seasonal ingredients - like candy-stripe beets, English peas, and Sicilian oregano graown for the hotel at Borgata Farms in Buena, New Jersey. The restaurants also draw collectively from the hotel's 14,000-bottle wine cellar. Eclectic describes the casual dining options as well - contemporary American at The Metropolitan, hearty and healthy at the Gypsy Bar, savory Asian at Noodles of the World, home-style Italian at Risi Bisi, and grand Las Vegas style for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Borgata Buffet.
The hotel's European-style Spa Toccare sprawls over 50,000 square feet, encompassing 22 treatment rooms, a full-service barber shop 'Shaving Grace,' a hair salon 'Pierre and Carlo,' a state-of-the-art fitness center 'The Pump Room,' and a massive indoor garden pool complex where guests can work up a sweat or simply relax.
Just a two-minute drive from the Atlantic City Convention Center, Borgata's meeting and conference facilities provide everything an organization needs to produce an outstanding event. The meeting complex offers 70,000 square feet of event space, including a column-free ballroom accommodating up to 3,700 guests for receptions, 2,400 for seated presentations, and 1,500 for banquets. All 20 meeting rooms feature the latest in lighting, projection, video, and sound systems. Ten boardrooms with diverse configurations come with wet bars, marble floors, plasma-screen TVs, and spectacular ocean views. Executive groups seeking an even more intimate rendezvous can gather in private rooms 'Ommagio' or 'Champenois,' tucked into Borgata's wine cellar.

Ok, from the beginning to the end, The Borgata exemplified a great and classy hotel. From checking the car into valet ... parking, to getting the room keys, all was smooth and easy. The Fornelletto's wait staff, appetizers and wine left no room for tiramisu, which I always order. Our waiter, [...], who hails from Roma, was polite attentive and made great meal recommendations. Before we knew it, we had been there for 3 hours. The other fabulous dining experience took place at izakaya. Now I'm not a sushi fan, but the other girls were. So I ordered the seared scallops with mushroom risotto. It was divine and not shared with anyone. The room we stayed in was the fiore suite. This huge room definitely was large enough for 4 divas. The closet had plenty of room and the all marble bathroom made us feel like royalty.

Better than Vegas - Romantic Getaway
Jadegolfer Oct 3, 2009
We visited Atlantic City for the first time on Sept.23 for one night. We wanted to check out the hotels and the area before ... scheduling a longer vacation. I reserved a room at the Borgata based on the online reviews and at the recommendation of our son who had visited AC and the Borgata earlier this year. We were not that impressed with the boardwalk or the beach (probably time of year), but we truly enjoyed our stay at the Borgata. We visited Vegas in early June and enjoyed it but were not impressed with the service at our hotel or the casinos on the strip. It was difficult to play with the cigarette smoke in the air and having to move every time someone lit up next to you. We checked out 21 casinos in Vegas and found only 3 that we would revisit. The fact that NJ now requires non-smoking gambling sections in all casinos and not just non-smoking tables is a big plus for us. We enjoyed our play time as much as our relaxation time. Having AC within driving distance is another plus. The front desk was excellent and very efficient. The clerk upgraded us to a suite when I asked for a king bed; and the suite was incredible. We ate at Borgata's breakfast buffet and at Noodles of the World for lunch; both were very good. We made the mistake of eating at the Bally's buffet for dinner-not recommended (lukewarm and bland). We did not give Dining Options an excellent because it was a little pricey, but after the buffet at Bally's, the extra cost was probably worth it.

Bogus Borgata
Not the Borgata Sep 27, 2009
Bogus Borgata, I was disapointed in this five star hotel. I booked the trip as a birthday gift for my husband and I to enjoy ... an overnight without the kids. Everything in the room looked dated, stained or torn. There was no bathtub (let alone jets), the towels had tears and wholes in them, I expected the TV to be at least a 32" flat screen, instead I got a 22" 1980's analog. The carpets were worn, the bathroom had something that looked like mold growing on the white tile. I couldnt wait to go home to my own bed. Yuk . . .

Jeff NJ OH Sep 8, 2009
This was our second stay at the Borgata. The management goes the extra mile to please customers. For example, when my brother ... and sister-in-law checked in after my partner and I did, the friendly desk clerk offered to put them in a room on the same floor as us. The surroundings are opulent, yet we paid a reasonable rate for our room. We had two wonderful and affordably-priced meals (dinner and breakfast) at The Metropolitan restaurant. The city view from our room was fabulous. Parking is downright inexpensive. There's probably no better place to stay in AC. In fact, this is one of the finest hotels I've ever stayed in, and as a frequent business traveler, I've stayed in many luxurious facilities.

I am not a smoker (obviously), but the smokers were even smoking in the Non-Smoking designated areas. It made it so that I ... didn't want to step on the gambling floor. Unfortunately, in order to get in or out of the building from your room, you must go through some portion of the smoking area.

Absolutely Horrible Stay
Looking for a relaxing vacation Aug 18, 2009
I have traveled quite a bit and stayed in many hotels but nothing can compare to the absolutely horrible service at this ... hotel. The staff was extremely unfriendly, unhelpful and dismissive. For a hotel that charges such exorbitant prices for their rooms you would expect customer service to accompany your stay. However, before arriving to the hotel I called to confirm that we would have two queen sized bed. They said that they could not accommodate this request even though I had specified in the reservation that there would be three people in the room. After much arguing and getting nowhere, the hotel informed me that I would have to try my luck when I got there and Orbitz said that they would not refund my money. How both of these companies expected three people to fit on one bed is beyond me. Then when we arrived at the hotel were forced to drag all of our luggage with out the help of a bellman. On top of this, they did not disclose a policy whereby each person is limited to 6 bottles of beer per room. This required multiple trips to the car to bring up any alcohol that was not purchased in the hotel. This policy is ridiculous and does not make sense since if we had just covered up the alcohol the concierge/ security would not have noticed. They do not disclose this policy at check-in for exactly that reason. There were a bunch of other quirks that I will not go into detail about but just to hint at how cheap this extravagently expensive hotel is- we asked for a toothbrush and they said that we had to purchase one from a local vending machine.
