I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and even called me a cab so I could get to the train station in Asbury Park!

good location

Friendly staff and clean. Great home base if you are visiting Asbury Park. Not a family hotel, though.

Fun on the beach

Clean, functional, ocean view room. There is a gay nightclub downstairs so it can be noisy. We were in town for shows at The Stone Pony which is one block over. Enjoyed the friendly lobby bar at the Empress after the show. On site parking is not always available.

Nice Enough

We came in for a quick stay for a family emergency. I didnt spend much time at the hotel, but the room was nice and the staff was very accommodating. I got a 4th floor room looking out at the ocean which was very nice. Since we were there in the dead of winter not much was going on.

Ok

For the cost, it was not worth it. The hotel lists it has a bar but did not serve it on weekdays. Had the honeymooners, or something else blaring on the TV as opposed to ESPN, or something more bar related.

Look elsewhere!!

One word describes this hotel experience...lousy! No parking because of an event at hotel. Strange vibe in the hotel. The management looked as if it didn't exist. Towels at pool were not restocked. They charge to use internet. Ignored at restaurant and then when we were noticed they told us the kitchen was closed. (It was well before closing time.) Bar was dark and uninviting. Would not stay there again. Money was not well spent.
