Great Motel with Bed and Breakfast Feel

I actually drive out of my way to stay here. The rooms are very cozy and clean. They are also equipt with HD TV's and Satellite. The wireless internet works great no matter what room I stay in. Its so nice to find a unique "non-chain" hotel.

Easy location, friendly staff, nice breakfast

The Port Inn was easy to locate, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast--for a Continental breakfast--had very good bread (we went to the bakery as suggested by the staff and bought 3 loaves!) It's a nice place in a very nice town; I'd go there again.

Great Motel

We booked the Motel online [...] and have been surprised how nice it is. Everybody was very nice and friendly. Good breakfast and with a cab downtown for ~10 $ is not so far away.

Very nice hotel

This hotel looks to be recently remodeled. Everything was very clean and new. It is nicer and cleaner than most of the mid priced chain hotels I have stayed in. I would stay hear again. My only complaint was that the continental breakfast did not have as much varity as most other hotels offer.

Great hotel for the price

We chose this hotel based on other positive reviews and the reasonable price and were very happy we did. The rooms are small but clean and have nice decor. The beds were really comfortable and the continental breakfast was great. We enjoyed eating outside on the small patio. The staff was friendly too and the location was so convenient and easy to find. It was really quiet considering it's just off a main road. There is nothing negative to say about our stay.

Hebert Brothers in Kittery offers fresh seafood at great prices. Try the Wednesday $5 lobster rolls. What a deal! My husband ordered 2 oysters and got 2 free ones on the plate too. It's a very basic place so not one for a romantic meal.

A good overnight stop

Our room was comfortable and clean and the complimentary continental breakfast was adequate. Although the historic district/shops area was about a 20-minute walk away, the desk clerk was helpful and provided good directions. At the water's edge, we continued walking over a small bridge and wound up on an island in Maine where we found a wonderful restaurant called Warren's Lobster House with great food, an extensive salad bar and reasonable prices.

Take the car into town, park in one of the municipal lots, cross over the picturesque bridge by foot and continue walking straight ahead for dining as mentioned below.

Wonderful stay!

We had a lovely conversation with the very friendly receptionist during check-in who gave us directions to downtown Portsmouth (a very short drive - only about 1.5 miles) and helped recommend a place for us to grab dinner. He seemed like he was willing to help recommend anything our hearts might desire! He even upgraded us to a King-size bed at no extra cost - at his suggestion, not ours! The hotel was set up like a motel, so we parked directly in front of our room - very convenient. Unlike most motels I've stayed in, though, the room was extremely nice. From the comfortable mattress, plush bedding, big LCD TV and clean, modern bathroom fixtures, to the tasteful photography on the walls, everything came together to make an extremely comfortable, relaxing experience. At the time I booked this hotel, it seemed to be $10-$40 less expensive than any other room available that would be close to Portsmouth. The only thing that didn't blow me away was the continental breakfast, which was adequate but nothing special (pastries, coffee and tea, juice, bread, English muffins, yogurt, and a few pieces of fruit). I will be staying here any time I come to Portsmouth. Definitely recommended!
