Excellent value for a family of 5
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over Christmas vacation for a family getaway & to do some outlet shopping. FANTASTIC location near the Kittery Outlets as well as around the corner from restaurants/mall area. Queen beds in the bedroom, separate living room with pull-out couch & full kitchen was the bomb. Super clean place. Great breakfast with make-your-own waffles, eggs, bacon & a ton of other food for breakfast. The amazing thing was that M-Th they give you a complimentary DINNER. I have never heard of this before. The ONLY downside to this hotel was that there was no jacuzzi, but a clean adequate pool area. Also, they provide a free shuttle to get around town. My sons used to get back from the outlets when they were sick of shopping.

Nice overnight stop
We had a one bedroom suite which was plenty of room for us and our three kids. The room had two queen beds (one for us and one for our youngest two kids), and the living room had a sofa bed which our teenager rated "comfortable". Both rooms had TVs, and while the reception on some channels wasn't great, it wasn't a problem. The suite also had a full fridge and kitchen ware, which we didn't use. We were there during Restaurant Week in Portsmouth, so the desk clerk warned us that there might be long waits for dinner and problems parking downtown. She helpfully directed us to the parking garage and we had no issues. Since we were only staying overnight, we were mainly interested in putting the little kids (7 and 10) in the pool. If you're looking for a strenuous lap swim, you'd be disappointed, because the pool is small. It was perfect, though, for the kids to splash around in for a couple hours on both days. They tell me the water was warm, too. Probably the best thing about the hotel was the breakfast buffet, which was included. This spread had everything from cold cereal to egg souffle. The kids loved the waffle maker machine, and I was grateful that there were healthy options like yogurt and fresh fruit. The staff was excellent at keeping everything stocked. Overall, this was a great value and a fantastic stay. I have no complaints, and would gladly stay at this hotel or affiliate again.

Great for a Portsmouth getaway
This was a very nice hotel. At first I thought it was too far "off the beaten path" but quickly realized that its location was perfect - just a few moments from downtown but far enough away from the busy downtown traffic. It was clean and quiet, the breakfast is delicious and the staff very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

Portsmouth Visit
Easy in, easy out. The staff was very helpful with extra towels and restaurant tips. No problems - exactly what we wanted. The free breakfast was a bonus.

A disappointment
The location of this hotel was good and the amenities satisfactory. However, we requested on three occasions that we be located in an adjoining room with a party with whom we were traveling. We were told that this should be no problem and at one pt were told that it had happened. When our request was not honored, after quite a bit of "haggling" we were placed in rooms next to (but not adjoining) each othe on the last night of our stay. One room was also a downgrade! They were happy to offer money back when this was brought to their attention but they should have done so to begin with.

Loved the hotel, but
This was Christmas week-end and so there weren't many guests. Yet, we were given a handicapped room on the back end of the second floor. When we called the desk to report that the pay-per-view options weren't working, they transferred us to the provider. I spent 45 minutes with them to learn that the service was down for the week-end. When I told the front desk this, they told me that I could have a free bottle of wine and call Monday to see if management would give us any kind of refund. When we asked where we could get a good lobster dinner, we found the restaraunt was closed when we got there. With all that said, the room and the breakfast were both wonderful.

Great hotel!
Check in was quick and easy, and the staff was nice. The room was large and spacious, and the location was convenient. I love homewood suites for their roomy style, and this one was definitely on par with the rest of them. I'd recommend it over the other hotels in town - for the same price range and general location, you get so much better accommodations! The only downside is that there is no restaurant. They do have refreshments and a light meal served in the common area, however there is also a shuttle that takes guests downtown, where the restaurants are excellent
