It was a very convienent place to stay after long day at Fryeburg Fair, restful for the next day traveling through New ... Hampshire to see couple other sights. We ate at Hotels Tavern, wifes meal was great, but mine could use some improvement. Had a burger that was barely cooked for a well done ordered and the bun was like just came out of the refer.

Not really in the heart...
Weekend Explorer Sep 22, 2009
It wasn't a bad hotel, but I think of much grander things when I hear the name "North Conway Grand Hotel" If you're going to ... the mountains to outlet shop then this is your place, but I was going to enjoy North Conway and local area and I wouldn't necessarily say that this was in the 'heart'. It reminded me more of a Motel 6 with it's cheesy decor, bad wallpaper and indoor/outdoor green carpet. I wish I could have given it a better review, but I honestly was disappointed upon check in. You could hear every noise the neighboring room was making. Not grand, but mediocre at best.

had a great time here. was upgraded to a king/jacuzzi room which was very spacious for 2 adults/2 children. pool and brand ... new playground are fantastic. very close to lots of activities, restaurants, storyland, and shopping. room was clean when we got there, but we never got clean towels, etc the next day, even though we were gone all day. wasn't a big deal though, would definitely recommend this hotel!

60th Birthday Getaway
Disappointed Jun 29, 2009
Should be advertised as a "family hotel". Children were banging doors, crying and yelling in the halls very early each ... morning. They were also swimming in the hot tubs. Other problem is that rooms aren't ready at check-in time and you are asked to wait 20 more minutes over and over again (along with other guests). We booked this particular hotel because it had a restaurant and tavern. That way if it rained all weekend we wouldn't have to go anywhere. We went to the tavern the first night to have a drink and watch the Red Sox game but it was filled with families with small children and lots of commotion and noise so we left after our first drink. The next morning we were going to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant but when we peaked in we realized it would be the same way. Definitely a family hotel - wish we had known before we booked it. :o(

Take a drive down the Kangamangus Highway and stop at the Rocky Gorge. Walk across the footbridge to see many butterflies. Then continue driving up Route 3 through the mountains for breathtaking scenery. The cloud formations are incredible as they seem to lay on the mountains. Beautiful trip!

My review of North Conway Grand Hotel
Dianne Jul 30, 2008
We were not completely satisfied with our room. We were given a handicapped accessible room. There was only one chair in ... the room. In addition, the shower drain was not working well and we had to turn the shower off before completion because the water was beginning to run out onto the floor.

Not a restful stay
Amanda-Maria Jan 6, 2008
I stayed because I wanted a break from phones ringing and responsibility and stress. Room service closed early and there ... were several screaming families at the hotel. The next morning I heard knocking at the door while I was sleeping. I was still pretty groggy from sleeping. I was trying to get out of bed when my door opened and a foreign housekeeper waltzed into the room before I could get to the door. When she saw me, she jumped (so did I). She said I sorry and left. This was several hours before check-out. About an hour later she banged on the door again. I called the front desk and let them know I was not happy. They said they would take care of me. She banged on the door again an hour later. I went to check-out an let them know what had happened. The check out attendant asked me if I had breakfast. I told her I had already eaten. She said Oh, because I would've offered you a free breakfast. That was it. No apologiews, no trying to make it better. NOthing. I would not recommend this hotel to future travellers.

The desk clerk made some nice gestures of free breakfast, and a free drink, and was very apologetic. The room we got was ... comfortable, with a good size bathroom. The bed was a little soft to my liking. Breakfast which is buffet style, was very good.

Was very confortable, nice amenities, so clean and personel was real nice. It is nicely situated for shoppers close to ... factory outlets that you could go to by foot. The only downside was that somebody forgot to advise the personnel for room service which was not done after our first night stay at the hotel. Consequently bed was not done and bathroom not done etc, Too bad because it is such a nice place to stay. I will although get back to the Grand hotel in the future because I think it was only a misundertanding.
