A mixed bag

First the positives: I loved the layout of the rooms. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfectly central between Nashua and Manchester, the focus of my trip. The people were friendly, and they were very accommodating to my request for non-feather pillows. On the flip side: The internet kept cutting out, even in the middle of a session. The room could have used a good dusting and the radio was literally caked in dust. The trim on cabinets was broken off in many places, and the refrigerator (while it did work well) looked like someone had taken a hammer to it in several places. The shower needed caulking around the head and spigot, and was quite noisy to those not in the bathroom. The pool was not lit in spite of being "open" until 10 PM. That turned out to be less of a big deal because it was so chlorinated that it irritated by daughter's skin when she went to check it out. So, we didn't use it. The sign for the hotel was made of cloth and was covering over another hotel's logo, so I am thinking that this was a recent acquisition by Wyndham. I have stayed at Wyndham hotels before and have always been more than pleased, so I am willing to cut some slack in this case with the thought that they have simply not brought this one up to their standards, yet. I am of two minds about whether I would try this one again. I did love the location and layout and I slept well there. The negative stuff was mostly cosmetic, but it definitely impacted my perception of the hotel.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

The Common Man is just up the street and was delicious with options for everyone, including a vegan. There were not many places that had vegetarian or vegan options during our stay, so this was a winner for us.

Residents Inn - Merrimack, Nh

Called ahead and requested room with fireplace and asked for extra towels. Both requests were fulfilled. Room was very clean and comfortable. King size bed was very good and had 5-6 pillows. Nice full size refrigerator with an icemaker. Stove was small and electric burners were on top were misaligned but they worked. Bathroom was small but clean. Best feature was fireplace. Would definitely stay here again.

Great value

We booked this for a lacrosse tournament we had the next day and were pleasantly surprised. It was a two room suite with a full kitchen. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious-real scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, yogurt parfaits, waffles, fruit, etc. Would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Good for what we needed

We stayed there with 3 kids, the youngest a newborn. The two rooms allowed us to put the two oldest in another room on the fold out couch so they wouldn't be woken up by the baby at night. So the room had adequate space. The continental breakfast was great. It did look like there was some water damage on the wall by the bathtub. Also I found a big hairball on one of the bath towels. While this wasn't the most fansy hotel we'd ever stayed in it was good for us and for the price compared to other hotels in the area. I think if we'd gone anywhere else we'd have to pay for two rooms that were more expensive for even just one room.

Huge Room

I was surprised to find somewhere where could bring our blended family, and our dog, and fit comfortably. I did not think a place like this existed, especially for the price we paid. The kids truly enjoyed the stay.

Good but not great

In concept this is a great hotel for a regular hotel price. The rooms are grouped in small buildings with parking between the buildings. The rooms have a full kitchen and a lounge area with easy chair, couch, coffee table and fireplace. The flat screen tv swivelled to be square on to the couch or the bed. In the bathroom area there were two closets. The vanity area is separate from the toilet/shower area. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. All the bedding was high quality and felt as good as new. The devil is in the detail and that is where the place falls down. The toilet and show area are small. There is only one vanity although there is room for two and the room is set up for four people. I can't blame them for there being wasps up the chimney in New Hampshire in the fall, but when I killed the four that made it out of the fireplace I didn't expect to see them lying on the hearth for the next two days. If I'd had cleaning equipment I'd have cleared them up myself, same goes for the ash in the hearth. By far the worst problem was the lack of nouse isolation. In the morning when other people were taking showers the water howled through the pipes in our wall, There was also a lot of creaking from the upstairs floor. Fortunately we aren't too concerned by the noise of other people, but it was way more than in other hotels. A few dollars more on insulation and constructon adhesive would have cured the noise problems. The final issue was parking, there just isn't enough space to park near the buildings. So when the hotel is full you have to find a free spot where you can. Not a huge deal but like a lot of other things with this place a tiny bit of attention would have made it perfect.

Middle of the road

WE have stayed here before and requested handicap accessibility. We needed a short walk from the parking lot to our room. We got there about 9PM and checked in. Our room number and the map given us were not the same. We ended up with quite the extended walk instead. Then the next day I returned to my room and my key didn't work. So I drove down to the front desk and walked further. Desk clerk confirms the key isn't working. Asks if I had it by my cell phone. No. Did I have it near my car alarm????? No. He resets the key and assures me that my husbands key will work fine as well. Just wierd I say.
