Traditional Jackson New Hampshire lodging in the heart of the White Mountains since 1879. This Historic Hotel of America, listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation, was restored as a historic country inn in 1986. Jackson is among the most appealing towns in New England. From the moment you enter through the covered bridge until the time you leave, you know you have come to a special place. The village has preserved its legacy, scenic beauty and was named among the Ten Top Romantic Ski Towns by Ski America. Jackson has everything it takes to be a romantic village. The Jackson Covered Bridge was known as the kissing bridge because in yesteryear men courting their dates would steal a kiss under its cover. Plan a visit to the Eagle Mountain House resort hotel in the Mt. Washington Valley, an all-season destination surrounded by the nearly 800,000 acre White Mountain National Forest.
Step back in time to an era of simple grace and hospitality ...Choose casual bistro dining in Highfield's or enjoy lighter fare in the Eagle Landing Tavern which is also served on our 280 foot verandah overlooking the golf course and surrounding mountains in season. Country breakfast is available in Highfield's daily and a Champagne Jazz Brunch is also served on Sunday. Every morning coffee and tea are available to guests outside the Tavern. In the afternoon cool or hot beverages are offered in the Eagle Landing Tavern.
-Highfield's ... a relaxed casual dining experience celebrating the fresh ingredients of New England ... The dining room is beautifully appointed with casual furnishings, handsome woodwork, period chandeliers and stately picture windows that overlook rolling fields, our golf course, surrounding mountains and the soothing waters of the Wildcat River. True to its Victorian heritage, our bistro dinner menu is varied and features classic New England cuisine prepared with the freshest ingredients. Fine selections of beef, seafood, poultry, wild game and vegetarian dishes are offered nightly. Main course listings are paired with a wine. In the morning, enjoy hearty country breakfasts featuring farm fresh eggs, blueberry pancakes, thick-sliced wedges of French toast dusted in cinnamon and more. Or, on the lighter side, enjoy seasonal fruit, muffins, tea breads or pastries baked fresh daily in our own bakery!
-Sunday Champagne Jazz Brunch ..."Best Brunch in the Valley!" Come to Highfield's to enjoy everything you'd expect from a grand feast every Sunday, a tradition for over one hundred years. Long winding tables filled with flowers and foods that may include Belgian waffles, poached salmon, Eggs Benedict, chilled shrimp, omelets made fresh-to-order, seasonal fruit, freshly baked pastries, desserts, and more. All deliciously savored and accompanied by a complimentary glass of champagne.
-Eagle Landing Tavern ... for libations and lighter fare. The Tavern is a great place to meet with friends before and after dinner, or for a lighter meal. The menu of snacks, pizza, appetizers and signature sandwiches are served amongst memorabilia and old time photographs of "The Eagle" and the surrounding Jackson area. In season, the Tavern menu is also available for lunch and may be served on our expansive porch during warm months.

While I was at this hotel I did nothing but relax it was amazing. The front porch was perfect for relaxing with amazing ... views. Along with the porch there was a nice and peaceful campfire in the back. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. All in all I could not have asked for a better trip. Also the bathrooms were new and very clean which was a huge plus.

Old fashioned fun
Laura Aug 11, 2007
We went for a long weekend with 2 kids. They loved it, the old elevator, the library with games, the barbecue dinner on the ... massive front porch and the smores by the bonfire were all hits with all of us. The place is old, the floors are creaky but the bathrooms were new and shiny. The beds are soft and comfortable. The included full breakfast buffet worked out great with the children. I thought it was more a family freindly, then romantic getaway type of place.

Scenic Hotel
Jonathan Jun 10, 2007
Old turn of the century wooden hotel. Our room was in the basement with steam pipes coming out of the ceiling, not what i ... expected. Beds were comfortable and the room was well appointed. I would advise upgrading to a superior room so you don't end up in the basement
