Just what I was looking for!

I love old and quaint and this place was exactly the kind of place I was looking for. If you want new and all the fancies this may not be for you. The location is great, the staff was wonderful and the breakfast brunch had everything you want, especially since it's included in some of the room stays.

Spectacular Location

Fine older hotel above Jackson, NH. All the amenities... bar, restaurant, golf course, views, very comfortable, clean room with 2 double beds. Would definitely go back... just wish the weather (rainy) had been better.

Since it is up the mountain, not much else near it that is walkable except the mountain area. Stores and other places to eat are a short drive down the mountain. Beautiful setting, though.

Grand white mtn experience

We stayed two nights at the Eagle Mtn house in Jackson, NH. Wonderful service at the front desk, in the pub and for our included breakfast. They upgraded our room, helped us with all the bridge closings due to the storms. We loved the old wood, the library, the rocking chairs on the front porch, and just the quietness of the location. Would recommend this to anyone.

Charming Hotel, Much More Than We Expected for the Price!

My boyfriend and I decided to make a last-minute, labor-day-weekend to the White Mountains. Neither of us knew much about the area. We pretty much went for the cheapest place and were pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel was not only historic and gorgeous, but included a free breakfast, had wonderfully helpful staff, and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on! The place was clean. We had a lower verandah room, so it was a bit loud at times (I think the people above us either had children or a dog running around early evening/early morning). The breakfast was a lovely, well-stocked buffet and everyone was extremely nice. There was a beautiful wrap around verandah with rocking chairs and it was a great location-- only a short drive to the Mount Washington Auto Route and far enough away from North Conway that you still felt like you were in 'the mountains.' We both agreed that we'd love to come back!

Weekend wedding

We stayed at eagle mountain for a friends wedding nearby. The staff was very welcoming and the hotel and room was spotless. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the ammenities because of the wedding but we did have time to explore the grounds before we left and like everything else the pool area, game room and hot tub looked spotless. When you add the huge breakfast buffet into the price it was a steal. We plan on visiting again real soon but this time we will have more time to enjoy the scenery and tee it up on the golf course with it's dramatic elevation changes.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Do not take the main drag through Conway and north Conway take the west side road it travels parallel to the main drag but will save you at least an half hour in just A ten mile stretch.

quaint and we loved it

A historic hotel, it is up to date in many ways. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. An old fashioned elevator takes you up and down or you can use the stairs. No pool, buit golf, an exercise room, game room for kids, and the best hot tub we've ever used. The breakfast was outstanding and the verandas are great for relaxing. a little off the beaten path, but the setting is superb. Jackson Falls (walking distance) is second only to Kangamangus. By car you're only minutes from all the attractions of the White Mountains. it's now a destination.
