The run down hole across the road from Mt Washington Hotel

The Lodge at Brenton Woods is old and run down. The sheets were thread bare and the blanket had a hole in it. There is no fridge and no tea or coffee making facilities. It is the run down hole across the raod from Mt Washington Hotel.

Clean, warm & safe.

Basic clean warm place to sleep. No in room fridge but sandwiches for the next days skiing stayed cold on the snowy balcony.

Overpriced, embarrassing, unworthy

I just spent several minutes writing my review and it was erased. Can't waste more time. The room was substandard, I was charged a "Resort Fee" after showing a reservation confirmation from [...]stating clearly that this fee was included in the price to no avail. Spent 20 minutes on te phone to straighten this out with [...](frustrating!).

The good, the bad, and the really ugly

Stayed there as we had visited Mount Washington and rode the COG railway - Lodge is no where near as expected - too pricey - no continental breakfast as shown on website - stopped that 2 years prior - lights in bathroon kept tripping GFI, desk lamp would not turn off, and security kept banging on door at 1am - asking if we had complained of noise! Only noise was him banging on the door!

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Wouldn't recommend staying here if you have young children and are traveling to Glen or to the auto road for Mount Washington. It is a very long drive for toddlers...recommend staying near Glen so the commute is shorter. Also, not many restaurants available in the area.

More than we expected

Great little motor lodge right next to Bretton Woods. Good humored folks at the front desk. Also, being able to take the shuttle and participate in activities at the grand hotel across the road was a nice perk.

The pool, hot tub and sauna were awesome - but bring a robe or cover-up to get from your room to the pool (outdoor hallway).

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Finding as place to eat breakfast was a problem. We ate one day at the bretton arms and spent 50.00. Another day we ate at the downhill ski base station and spent 20.00 for a noisy meal. The grand hotel on the property is nice. Be prepared tpo spend a lot for food. And you need to dress for dinner there. Jackets required.

Mt. Washington Lodge

I found the front desk staff to be absolutely wonderful. They were very courteous, friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was disappointing. The choices were fine (yogurt, bread, danish or muffins, cereal, juice, fresh fruit, coffee or tea) but if you wanted eggs, pancakes, or something else you had to pay extra. This meant that even the coffee was an extra charge. The good thing was that they give you a $5.00 coupon that can be used towards the meal. We found that the prices, everything from hotels to restaurants, were high. Of course this is a resort area. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. We even recommended the place to a couple we met during our stay.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

We found the best restaurants a short (25 minute) drive (Littleton, NH) from the hotel. As a matter of fact there were several restaurants, shops, and a supermarket in the same location.
