Very convenient location
This was a nice, convenient motel that had everything one would expect from a room in this price range. If you need a pool and hot tub to complete your stay you are better off renting elsewhere. But if all you need is a clean comfortable room this will do nicely.

Budget-friendly
Quick and easy check in and check out procedures. At 8 am, the breakfast service was already over (but I don't book hotels to get a bowl of cereal). The bed was good, the paint fresh. The small room was clean and furnished with a micro and fridge. The musty smell of the room was a real turn off. This is an inexpensive place to rest for 8-10 hours, and that's all it is. Other McCool hotels charge a lot more and give you added features. If you're on a budget, bring some air freshener and you'll do fine here for an overnight.

Last available choice.
Had to wait on staff to check in. Not very friendly! Room had air turned on when we got there but smelled like stale musty air. Roach crawling in bathtub next morning when I went to take a shower. Makes one wonder how many other bugs we brough home with us. Bed was soft. Uncomfortable so did not get a good night sleep.

Turkey hunt trip to McCook, Ne
The motel experience was fine. Roger the GM goes out of his way to provide great service. The Nebraska turkeys are getting too smart though. I will have to do it again, just to get even. I will stay in the same place: The Economy 8.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Fuller's restaurant is open 24/7 and provides plenty of good food at a fair price.
